Players will be able to control their descent to a certain point instead of flailing around while falling miles to the ground. This guide will show playershow to dive, how to control Link while diving, and when it is possible to dive.

How to Dive in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom
Diving is a very specific action inThe Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. It is not like in theCall of Dutyserieswhere the player can dive forward head-first and flop onto the ground whenever. Link can only dive when jumping off a platform much higher than the ground below it or into a pool of water.
After Link takes a running jump off a platformor ledge,players can dive by pressing the R button. There must be a considerable height between the ledge and the ground below for the diving option to be available. If the height is massive, such as jumping off one of the sky islands down to Hyrule below,players can speed up their descent by pressing and holding the R button again.
Link will then rocket to the ground if the player does not want to take in the sights while falling, though players should be aiming for a pool of water before dive-bombing. While rivers and some lakes may seem too shallow for Link to fall into whendiving from one of the sky islands, Link will be completely safe.
There are also some ledges that are specifically made for diving, and players will know by getting close to the edge and a Jump prompt appears. It is not necessary to follow the prompt, and players can still jump off with reckless abandon, but it does help for those specific times when players could accidentally overshoot their target and die from a fall. Even ifplayers increase their hearts and stamina, Link splatting onto the ground will still end his life prematurely.
