Summary
Xiaomi has been increasing its presence in the gaming monitor space for some time now with widescreen monitors that offer finely tuned curvatures that are meant to mimic the shape of the human eye, creating an immersive experience that will draw players into their favorite titles. Their latest offering, the Xiaomi G34WQi, continues this trend with its impressive 34-inch 21:9 ratio Ultrawide WQHD resolution screen. Those looking for an Ultrawide screen experience that won’t break the bank should definitely consider this offering from Xiaomi. We spent a couple of weeks testing the device and were surprised by some of the things we found, especially when it came to the overall construction of the monitor.
An Ultrawide Monitor That Feels High Quality
We’ve unboxed many monitors in the past, with some boxes containing less-than-stellar shipping materials. The packaging that cradles the Xiaomi G34WQi is great, providing adequate space for the large base plate and stand while enveloping the fragile monitor screen itself with thick, curved styrofoam that perfectly encapsulates the device without putting unnecessary pressure on its delicate screen. Once we carefully removed the packaging, we were met with multiple pieces of a deconstructed monitor that felt rather heavy and sturdy, regardless of their fragile nature. Though the screen itself features a thin border, it felt well-constructed and we didn’t feel like it was going to shatter simply by touching it as with some of the monitors we’ve handled in the past.
The base itself was split into two pieces, with a heavy metal stand and thin-yet-incredibly-strong square metal base plate. Putting the two pieces together was easy thanks to the small metal dowels that easily guide into slots on the bottom of the stand, and adding the screws was easy even for one person. Attaching the screen to the base itself was a breeze as it uses a specialized clip system that simply snaps into place. Once the monitor was attached, it felt sturdy, and it’s only removable by moving an included clip, so players won’t have to worry about it “randomly falling off” or concern themselves with ensuring any screws are adequately frightened into the back of the screen.

The completed monitor has a nice heft to it but isn’t so heavy that it’s difficult to move and maneuver. Overall, it strikes a great balance between weight, quality, and stability.
A Great, Stable Stand
Expanding on the stand itself, it’s one of the better monitor stands we’ve seen. The core feels sturdy and the slightly-textured metal is easy to grab and manipulate. The monitor screen itself snaps easily into the base and the stand offers immense customization and viewing comfort thanks to its telescoping height and tilt functions. It’s very easy to push the monitor stand up and down (to different heights) with just a bit of pressure. It glides easily but isn’t so loose that it will fall randomly with too much movement or a slight touch. The tilt function operates the same way, allowing players to easily adjust their monitor for any viewing angle without having to utilize any special buttons or clips.
A Crisp WQHD Resolution With Great Performance At A Low Price
Finding an Ultrawide screen at a resolution greater than 1080p can be a bit pricey. The wider the screens stretch and the greater the resolutions become, the bigger the hit to one’s wallet. This is one of the main aspects of the Xiaomi G34WQi that makes it so enticing. Players will be able to grab this 34-inch 21:9 ratio Ultrawide WQHD high resolution (3440 x 1440) screen for approximately $289.99 USD at launch, from a variety of third-party sellers including Walmart, Temu, and Amazon. This is a great starting point for those looking to secure a high-resolution Ultrawide monitor and offers solid savings over other competitors in the same space.
It’s not just a high-resolution either, as the Xiaomi G34WQi offers great performance for its price too, including an impressive 180Hz Refresh Rate and a seamless 1ms MPRT response time. This promises players a fluid and smooth gaming experience that helps eliminate any screen tearing. Visuals are rendered better too thanks to a 100% sRGB Wide color gamut that includes ΔE<2 Professional color accuracy. This all runs at a brightness of 350 Nits, making it a good, comfortable middle-ground for most players.

The Xiaomi G34WQi also provides built-in TÜV Rheinland-certified Low Blue Light protection which will help keep players' eyes safe from strain, providing a much better viewing experience for longer-running gaming sessions.
Excellent Performance With An Ultrawide WQHD High-Resolution
We tested numerous games on the Xiaomi G34WQi, including graphically impressive and intensive recent titles likeHelldivers 2,Lords Of The Fallen,Forza Horizon 5,Hi-Fi Rush, as well as some action-packed shooters likeXDefiantandCall of Duty Modern Warfare III.
The Xiaomi G34WQi did a fantastic job displaying each graphically-intensive game at a maximum resolution of 3440 x 1440, with smooth transitions during camera movement and a gorgeous color that stayed vibrant throughout thanks to its 350 Nits display. Performance was incredibly smooth across both shooters, with zero jittering, screen tearing, or visual issues. The Xiaomi G34WQi stands out as an excellent high-performing high-resolution Ultrawide WQHD monitor.

Overall, Xiaomi’s G34WQi is one of the better 34-inch Ultrawide screen gaming monitors that we’ve reviewed and is especially impressive at its $289 price point. It’s a great, affordable option for those who want a WQHD high resolution (3440 x 1440) screen that looks and feels high-quality, with performance stats to match. Players can get their hands on the G34WQi stateside from third-party retailers like Amazon, Walmart, and Temu when it launches.
