Last year ushered in a new era of gaming. With the launch of theXbox Series Xand PlayStation 5, gamers now have access to many features previously only dreamed about for consoles, such asfast load times through SSDs. However, this improved performance comes at a cost as both of these powerful systems are quite large. As a result, finding a location to place these consoles can prove a challenge. However, one next-gen gamer discovered a clever solution for storing their Xbox Series X.
In a recent post on Reddit, a user known as Gary_BBGames shared a picture of their gaming setup. One highlight of the image was an Xbox Series X resting on a 3D-printed wall mount. Sporting a black color and inconspicuous design, this wall mount blended nicely with the rest of the room. In addition, the holes in the stand provided adequateventilation for the Xbox consolealong with good cable management. Gary_BBGames noted that they chose to use a wall mount for the Xbox Series X because their entertainment unit seemed too small.

Gary_BBGames revealed the process of making the 3D-printed wall mount for theirimpressive Xbox gaming setup. According to the gamer, the wall mount was composed of 2 parts that each took approximately 7 hours to 3D print. Despite not making the design, they revealed that the person who designed the mount used Shapr3D. When asked why they didn’t purchase a wall mount on Amazon, Gary_BBGames responded that the materials needed to print the wall mount only cost “a few dollars,” and the production process would be quicker than having one shipped from a retailer.
This new stand from Gary_BBGames has become popular with the Xbox community on Reddit, with many liking the clean look that the wall mount provided for theXbox Series X. While some admired the gamer’s creative setup, others were too nervous to try it themselves. Many Reddit users commented that it looked like the console could fall off the stand. However, the creator assured those concerned that the 3D-printed mount was “incredibly strong” and that carpet was underneath the console.

News about this fan-created 3D-printed wall mount for Xbox Series X comes as many other gamers are still attempting to find their own next-gen consoles. Withchip shortages expected to continue into 2022, it seems that these new consoles will remain a scarce commodity. However, for those that are fortunate enough to pick up a new console or already have one, it will be interesting to see if they use a 3D printed wall mount like the one created by Gary_BBGames.
