Summary
World of Warcraft Classicis increasing the new 50% experience boost in Season of Discovery to 100% and applying it to all characters, regardless of level. This massive change is coming toWorld of Warcrafton March 5, and will make leveling up in Season of Discovery easier than ever before.
Season of Discovery isWorld of Warcraft’s newestClassicexperiment that consists of multiple phases, each of which has a gradually rising level cap. With the start of Phase 2 of Season of Discovery,World of Warcraftimplemented the Discoverer’s Delight 50% experience boost for all characters up until they reach level 25, the originallevel cap fromWoW ClassicSoD Phase 1.

Though Phase 2 is still far from finished,World of Warcraftis buffing this experience boost yet again. According to aforum post byWoW Classicsenior game producer Josh “Aggrend” Greenfield, the Discoverer’s Delight XP boost is doubling from 50% to 100% starting on March 5. What’s more, characters will benefit from this experience boost all the way to level 40.World of Warcraftwas already planning on adding this boost with the start of Phase 3, but it decided to push the buff through at the midway point of Phase 2 to let players more easily level alts and enjoy the second Season of Discovery endgame.
New WoW Classic Season of Discovery Experience Boost
This isn’t the only quality-of-life improvement Aggrend revealed in his forum post. The gold cost of racial mounts and mount training at level 40 is also being cut in half, making it much easier for players to get their first mounts. Additionally, gold rewarded fromWorld of Warcraft Classicquestsbetween level 1 and 39 will be increased to make completing them more lucrative, and to help purchase new skills at the increased rate caused by the experience buff. At the moment, there are no plans to spread this gold increase to quests of level 40 or higher, nor to reduce the cost of Epic mount training at level 60.
Between increased experience rewards and powerful class-altering Runes, leveling in Season of Discovery is alreadymuch faster than in normalClassic WoW. Fans interested in exploring the nostalgic version of Azeroth inWorld of Warcraft Classic, but who were hesitant due to the unforgiving mechanics of the 20-year-old MMO, might want to consider checking it out after these changes on March 5.
