Spider-Man Remasteredsaw the original game updated with graphical improvements like ray-tracing, new trophies, and new suits, making it a noticeable step up from the PS4 version. As of now,Spider-Man Remasteredis only available with Deluxe Editions ofSpider-Man: Miles Morales, though a new listing could hint at this changing.
While most players who experienced the originalSpider-Mangame were excited to playSpider-Man: Miles Morales, a few were unhappy that the spinoff had to be purchased to get access to the remaster of Insomniac’s first Spidey game. It seems like the feedback has been heard regarding this decision, as a listing for a standalone version ofSpider-Man Remasteredwas recently foundin the PlayStation Store. While the post was quickly taken down by Sony, players were quick to record the details.

According to a series of posts on Resetera, it seems thestandalone version ofSpider-Man Remasteredwas given the price tag of $39.99. With a placeholder price of $59.99 not being used and Sony going with something more fitting of the remaster, the idea that this could be a legitimate leak as opposed to a slip-up seems a bit more believable. Unfortunately, while players could see the listing and add the game to their cart, they were greeted with a “this item is not available for purchase” message when trying to checkout.
While this listing could be a mistake and should be taken with a grain of salt because of that, it is possible thatSpider-Man Remasteredwill be standalone soon. With this in mind, a few more players can join the ongoing discussion on Peter Parker’s controversial face model change with the PS5 version. While some players are upset with the update due to certainSpider-Manscenes losing their emotional impact, others defend the change as they believe Peter looked too old previously.
Regardless of the controversy, Insomniac seems to be going ahead with the new face, as it appears inSpider-Man: Miles Moralesas well. Aside from the Peter face debate, the PS5 version of the game has been highly praised by fans.Spider-Man Remasteredrecently received cross-save support as well, allowing players to bring their PS4 saves to the PS5 — though the saves will need to be uploaded from PlayStation 4 first.60 FPS was also addedvia a recent patch, further improving the visuals of the updated Spidey game.
If this PlayStation Store listing proves accurate, players that have been interested in buying the game standalone may soon be able to do so.
