A helpful co-op partner inElden Ringallows the host to land the final hit on Malenia.Elden Ringfeatures several difficult boss fights, but Malenia is probably the most challenging of them all. A recent stat also reveals thatElden Ringfans have attempted to fight Malenia 329 million times, more than any other boss in the game. Malenia has two phases like some other bosses in the game, along with a unique passive that heals her on every hit.
Like theDark Soulsgames,Elden Ringallows for co-op gameplay, as players can choose to summon other gamers to help with a fight. Having two players in the fight can be highly beneficial, as it allows users to take a breather to replenish their health or apply buffs. However, some co-op partnersprefer to fight Malenia on their own, making things easier for the host. Now, one of these users was generous enough to let the host land the final strike on Malenia.

A Reddit user named PM_ME_CODE_SNIPPETS has shared a clip fromElden Ringof their fight against Malenia. The player featured in the video has been summoned to help another user, and it looks like they fought the boss on their own. She only has a sliver of health left, but the user turns back and runs towards the host, allowing their partner to land the final hit. The host uses the Corpse Piler skill of theRivers of Blood katana inElden Ringto deplete the last bit of health left on Malenia with ease.
The Reddit poster mentions that this strategy doesn’t always work, as right after this fight, they tried to let a different host get the final hit on Malenia, but the other player was unable to do so. PM_ME_CODE_SNIPPETS claims that many users have died in the process, and it’ll be interesting to see the success-to-failure ratio of this tactic. They have also shared their build in one of the comments, confirming that they are atlevel 100 inElden Ringwith vigor at 50.
Some users in the comments section make note of the wholesomeness of theElden Ringvideo, while a few state that hosts should put in some effort to get the reward at the end of the fight. One player also claims that they fully expected the host to die in the video, but they managed to hold their ground and finished Malenia without much trouble.
