The first big fight inWest of Loathinginvolves a rock monster blocking a train track. Once this obstacle is cleared, the train can proceed further west on the map. This is where players can findRoy’s Bean House, which not only has a fine selection of jellybean varieties, but other luxuries like an in-house as opposed to an outhouse.

It’s not mandatory to visit Roy to rebuild the remains of the bridge and travel to Frisco, but it’s still something fun and interesting to occupy a cowpoke’s time. There’s also plenty of meat to be gained, fightin' to be had, and XP to be earned in the wildRPGWest of Loathing.

How To Find Roy’s Bean House

After the protagonist clears the rubble blocking the train, the tracks extend to a broken bridgeand open up the second partof the map. Roy’s Bean House is located in the lower part of this second area, and there are two ways to find it. Players can either talk to the man by the train eating jellybeans and ask where they got them, or find a letter at thePostal Way Stationaddressed to “Roy’s House of Justice and Jelly Beans.”

The location of Postal Way Station is revealed when the player accepts “Missing Mail” which is one of the Breadwood Errands. Speak to the Mayor of Breadwood to get the quest.

Normally, Roy has three kinds of jellybeans on display, but they’ve all been stolen. He tells the player where to find the stolen beans and marks the locations on the map. All of them are in the same region, on the lower left-hand side of the map.

The super-rare ultra-expensive Honey Jellybean cures the Ant-Eye virus effect that the player contracts near the end of the game. It is available whether or not the Jellybean Errands are done; it’s just cheaper if the player helps Roy out. The regular price is 1000 Meat, but the price goes down the more quests are done. The cheapest this gets is 5 Meat.

First Floor

Upon entering Old Granddad, the player will encounter a Goblin blocking the ladder to the second level. Speak to him, and he’ll be happy to take that Bar of Soap off the player’s hands, because he thinks it’s a candy bar.

Second Floor

Instead of candy, this Goblin wants syrup. Go into the next room and use a Mysticality or Moxie of at least 40 to either make a spigot or find one from the pile of trash. Fill two vials, because he’s going to want extra.

Third Floor

The Goblin mutant who has the stolen Jellybeans hasn’t eaten them, thank tarnation, but the character needs to haveIntimidatin', Hornswigglin', orOutfoxin' to talk the creature into letting them go.

If Gary is the player’s Pardner, it’s not possible to fight the mutant. Talking it out of the Jellybeans is the only option.
