Call of Duty: Warzonehas proved a very popular shakeup of the already-popularCall of Dutyseries. As players come and go,Call of Duty: Warzonecontinues to experiment with new events and options. A particularly exciting-looking one recently dropped: an event that brought King Kong and Godzilla into the game. This event, tied directly to the newest Godzilla cinematic universe, also brought several new skins, including one of Mechagodzilla. Here’s how to get it.

Call of Duty Warzone Mechagodzilla

First off, it should be clarified that the Mechagodzilla skin does not turn players into a tiny version of the robot; it just gives a mask, costume, and weapon highlights.

How to Get Mechagodzilla Skin in Warzone

Currently, the only way to get the entire Mechagodzilla bundle is to buy it from theWarzonestore, and there is no way to unlock it in-game through play. This will likely be disappointing to some players, but at least the costume is not as bright and brazen as the"pay to lose" Godzilla skin.

This feels like a bit of a missed opportunity on Activision’s part, since crazy quests for content have been a part of theCall of Dutyseries for a long time, and this event seems like the perfect opportunity for more of the same.

Still, even as paid-only content, Mechagodzilla caused problems for a while as its bundle was not available for individual purchase. While this has since been fixed, it was an odd bug all around.Dr. Disrespect has voiced their unahappiness with the eventfor various reasons, and this certainly doesn’t help matters.

Dr. Disrespect is not alone in his vocal dislike of the Caldera event. Twitch streamerNICKMERCS criticized theWarzoneeventas well, citing the lack of interaction between the monsters and lack of impact on players.

It’s a shame that the event has not had better reception, especially with such a promising premise as Godzilla directly impacting aCall of Dutymap and with the promise of cool-looking costumes.

Sadly, neither part of the event has landed too well, contributing to a decreasing player count.OneWarzoneplayer thinks bots have been added to the gameto compensate for low numbers, although there is no hard evidence for this as of writing.

Call of Duty: Warzoneis available now for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
