Twitchhas banned Matthew “Mizkif” Rinaudo from its streaming platform, with the ban starting on Friday, January 13. Mizkif is one of the most popularTwitchstreamers in the world, amassing a large following of fans not only on Twitch, but across social media. Mizkif is one of the founding members of One True King, aka OTK, an organization comprised of other big-name Twitch streamers and content creators, including Asmongold and Sodapoppin.
At the time of this writing,Mizkif is suspended from the OTK board, though he is still technically part of the organization. Mizkif found himself at the center of a major controversy last year when he was accused of trying to cover up sexual assault allegations levied at fellow streamer Slick. After that, text messages came to light that showed Mizkif using racist and homophobic language. Mizkif issued apologies and took an extended break from streaming, but was never actually banned during this time.

Mizkifhas now been hit with a Twitch ban for “aiding account suspension evasion.” Twitch rarely ever provides streamers with the specific moment during a stream that got them banned, and so all fans can do is guess as to how Mizkif aided “account suspension evasion.” Mizkif viewers have presented two possible events that may have triggered the ban: one of the guests he’s had on his stream recently had a banned Twitch account, or he watched content made by a banned streamer.
According to fans on Twitter, Mizkif watched a video from Gross Gore on his stream recently, which would potentially violate Twitch’s terms of service since Gross Gore was permanently banned from the platform in 2021.Gross Gore’s permanent Twitch bancame about after he was accused of sexual harassment and a number of other serious offenses.
It’s unclear ifMizkif’s latest Twitch banis permanent or if he will return to the streaming platform. This would only be Mizkif’s second Twitch ban, and most streamers are given multiple strikes depending on the severity of their transgression, so it does seem likely that Mizkif will be allowed to return to Twitch at some point in the near future.
Mizkif’s return to Twitch has not been going smoothly. He abruptly ended a Twitch Plays Pokemon event due to lack of interest from fans, and more recently,Mizkif hurt himself while lifting weights on stream. If Mizkif does come back to Twitch, it will be interesting to see if things turn around for the controversial streamer or not.
