InTiny Tina’s Assault on Dragon Keep, the Vault Hunters sit down to play a game of Bunkers and Badasses with Tiny Tina as their “Bunkermaster.” The cheeky spoof of classicDnDwas many fans' favorite among all the DLCs available forBorderlands 2,and many have been hoping to play another session of the game since.Tiny Tina’s Wonderlandswas one of the 2K games that were recently leakedbut was officially revealed in a new trailer today at the Summer Game’s Fest.

Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands Could Be a Big Homage to Dungeons and Dragons

WithDungeons and Dragonsmore popular than ever, it’s good timing for the now-officially announcedTiny Tina’s Wonderlands.Borderlands 3has stayed fairly popular despite what are considered a few missteps by certain element, so announcing a new spin-off game makes sense there too. TheBorderlandsseries' signature tongue-in-cheek humor translated well into lampooning classicDnDtropes, like the grenade mods acting as various spells like Fireball and Lightning Bolt. Hearing the characters yell out the spell names was an added treat, and the DLC was packed with little jokes about things like grinding XP by killing skeletons and otherDnDtropes.

Not much has been revealed about the game just yet but the trailer itself was also full ofDnDlip service. A dragon is seen circling around a mountaintop while an unknown character is seen hammering at a forge, with spellcasting being a new feature to the franchise. The dragon inevitably swoops down to attack, but the character is revealed to have been crafting a classicallyBorderlands-style gun as the magical unicorn Butt Stallion leaps out in their defense. There’s beenevidence aboutWonderlandsfor a while now, so while it may not exactly be a surprise, it’s an answer to a lot of fan hopes.

More will come later revealing whatTiny Tina’s Wonderlandsis exactly, but that doesn’t make the game any less exciting. It’ll be interesting to see if the game skews away from the first-person shooter format that its predecessors have utilized. It’s possible that the game moves to a third-person perspective to facilitate more traditional RPG action and an emphasis on character customization in line with mostDnD-based games, as it is also said to feature character customization. How many mechanics work will become a big focus for fans now that the game has actually been announced. Many of the hallmarks ofDungeons and Dragonsgame stands directly on the opposite side of gameplay style toBorderlands, butDragon Keepshowed that Tiny Tina and the other Vault Hunters can pull it off in style.

Tiny Tina’s Wonderlandsis set to release in 2022 for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
