With that said, Gollum will still look somewhat familiar and the screenshots provide insight into how the new game will operate.
The game has created some anticipation as Gollum is a famed but troubled character who battles with two distinct personalities. It seems that the game will incorporate decisions based on the two personalities and also bring in aspects of stealth, as Gollum is not a character who is known for their attacking prowess.The Lord of The Rings: Gollumis rumored to be set during the events of The Hobbit and The Lord of The Rings Trilogy. The images show a range of terrain from green pastures to dark orc geography. On top of that, the image of Gollum shows the numerous ways in which players will make decisions as well as the new look for the character which is relatively similar to the cinematic version. The spiders that featured in The Hobbit look set to appear as well as images of dark passageways that utilize a fantasy aesthetic. Although the images fromThe Lord of The Rings: Gollumwill give players an indication of how the game will operate, there will still be questions about how the character moves from each environment and how the story will justify the action. With that said, there is plenty of lore to draw from.
The character of Gollum has a long historyand this will allow the developers of the title, Daedalic Entertainment, to draw from a number of influences and character traits. Fans of The Lord of The Rings will hope that the game manages to use as much of the existing story as possible and gives it new life with intriguing game mechanics.
Some fans are hoping that the game will bea narrative based around the mental health of Gollum, and the decision aspects of the game could play into this. Whichever direction the title takes, many will be excited to get a new The Lord of The Rings game on a new generation of consoles.
