He’s even played by David Howard Thornton, of Art the Clown fame.RELATED:Terrifier 2: Is Horror Always A Box-Office Winner?A new trailer forThe Mean Onewas posted byEntertainment Weekly, teasing the basic plot of the film. This film’s version of Cindy Lou Who is named Cindy You-Know-Who (Krystle Martin), the film’s voiceover tells the audience. She lives in the town of Newville, which loves Christmas a lot. Up in the mountains, however, there lives a thing that does not. That thing makes its way down to Newville and kills several people, earning him the name the ‘Christmas Killer’ by the town’s police. One of his victims was Cindy You-Know-Who’s mother twenty years before her return to town.[EMBED_TWITTER]https://twitter.com/3CFilmss/status/1597319773817163776[/EMBED_TWITTER]When Cindy You-Know-Who witnesses the Mean One killing her father upon her return to Newville, however, she becomes a full-on action heroine. In this horror movie, the final girl isn’t waiting on anyone to stop the Mean One. She takes it upon herself to battle with the Mean One and begins to ready herself to face her parents' killer.A new poster was also released with the tagline, “slashing through the snow.” It’s allvery much an anti-Christmas moviewith a dark twist on the traditional, family-friendly appeal of the season. Much of the film’s humor relies on the audience’s familiarity with the childhood story of the Grinch, and there are even several cinematic parallels and references to Ron Howard’s 2000 adaptation ofHow the Grinch Stole Christmas, which starred Jim Carrey.Much likeWinnie the Pooh inBlood and Honey, this film gleefully relies on a nostalgic figure from the audience’s childhood. It’s easy to see the appeal: the Grinch has an uncanny quality in real life, and his antics serve as a decent starting point for a home invasion film. Just add in a slightly more blood-crazed version of the character, and there’s a horror movie in the making. The Mean Onehits theaters on July 22, 2025.MORE:10 Christmas Films That Definitely Do Not Have Holiday ThemesSource:Entertainment Weekly,Bloody Disgusting
