The Elder Scrolls Skyrim Dragonborn

Some of these features will be nostalgic to fans ofSkyrim, like the return of vampire lords that appears in theDawnguardexpansion, and the chance to travel around Solitude again. Other additions bring fresh features that keep things exciting. Here’s what fans can expect from this newDLC.

10Greymoor Takes Place Before The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim

Some fans might be hoping that they will be able to see what happens in Tamriel after the Dragonborn saved the day inThe Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, but that won’t be the case in this expansion pack. Instead, players will see what Skyrim was like hundreds of years before the Dragonborn even got sent to Helgen.

While this might disappoint some fans at first, this timing has the potential to provide more Skyrim lore, as well as the feeling of nostalgia from being another hero that will leave Skyrim’s citizens in awe.

Elder Scrolls Online Archaeology

9Archaeology Will Be Important

Whileexploring caves, abandoned houses, and castleshas always been a part ofThe Elder Scrolls Online, now there will be even more reason to look in every nook and cranny of the map. After completing quests or stumbling across something interesting in a chest, players may find an item that will give them clues as to where a relic is.

These clues tell players the locations that have the chance to give them somecool loot. If players want to get items that can give them an upper-hand in a fight or some new clothes to try on, they’ll want to keep an eye out for these artifacts as much as possible.

8Mystic Items Will Give Players A Choice

Mystic items inGreymoormight remind some fans of the Flaws system inThe Outer Worldswhere you can accept a potential weakness in exchange for a potentialperk. In the case ofGreymoorand its mystic items system, players may find items that will give them a helpful perk, but some of these items might apply more negative effects to the player when they’re equipped.

While not all of the mystic items have this kind positive versus negative effect, they are all so powerful that the game doesn’t allow you to wear more than one mystic item. You can get these items through archaeology.

7Vampire Lords Are Back

Fans who liked theDawnguardDLC fromSkyrimmight enjoy the storyline ofGreymoorfor similar reasons.Greymoorhas players facing off against creatures that should already be familiar toThe Elder Scrolls Onlineplayers, such as vampires and werewolves. However, these monsters are now following the orders of a vampire lord, similar to how many vampires inSkyrimwere following the orders of the vampire lord known as Lord Harkon.

While players will be fighting this monster army instead of potentially making the choice to join it like inDawnguard, the ability to become a vampire or a werewolf isn’t limited toGreymoor. Any player can become one of these creatures if they know where to look, and who to fight.

Some fans may not realize that, whileGreymooris a larger expansion pack, it is actually part of an even larger story called “The Dark Heart of Skyrim,” which players can start in theHarrowstormDLC. Two more DLC additions are planned to release this year that will continue with “The Dark Heart of Skyrim” story, so fans ofSkyrimmay have much to look forward to.

5A New Group Trial Has Been Added

Greymoorintroduces a challenging group trial for players to try out called “Kyne’s Aegis”, and it’s one that players might want to have a very big group for. This trial has players fighting through vampires, half-giants, and other creatures along with three differentbossesto defeat before the trial can be completed.

Some of these bosses even call upon more monsters to come to their aid, so players will definitely have their hands full during these battles. The trial can give fans some nice rewards, but there are plenty of difficult stages that make players work hard for their loot.

3Some Skills Have Been Added & Updated

As mentioned, players have been able to play as vampires inThe Elder Scrolls Onlinesince beforeGreymoorwas released. However, it’s worth noting that the skills for these vampires have changed quite a bit. Some abilities have been added while others have been replaced, feeding looks different for players, and the vampire stages have new pros and cons.

Along with this change,Greymoorhas added two new skills, scrying and excavation, both of which help the player discover antiquities. While the scrying and excavation skills are helpful for players that want to get some powerful items, players who have been or want to be vampires might want to look over these new skills to see how things might change for their game.

1Dragons Stay In Elsweyr

One of the main staples ofSkyrimwasthe ability to fight dragonswhile using shouts and making armor from their bones and scales. Unfortunately, dragons seem to stay in Elsweyr inThe Elder Scrolls Online, so any fans that were hoping to fight more dragons or visit Paarthurnax might be disappointed.

There are still a few references to dragons in this expansion, such as the Dragon Bridge that stands between Markarth and Solitude, but the creatures themselves are absent while vampires and werewolves try to take over. Players can still travel to Elsweyr if they miss the winged beasts, while they can fight the smaller, blood-sucking foes without worrying about adding a dragon into the mix.
