Introduced inTerraria’s 1.4 update, Luck is a stat that impacts many aspects of Re-Logic’s acclaimed sandbox game. Indeed, players that want to maximize their unique item drops, rare enemy spawns, andFairies inTerraria1.4will need to increase their Luck, and this guide will cover exactly how that is done and go into further detail about what is affected by the stat.

To begin, there are five different ways to increase Luck inTerraria1.4, and they are as follows:

Being near a Garden Gnome grants good Luck.

Ladybug Luck inTerraria1.4

Coming into contact with a regular ladybug that has been released grants good Luck for 12 minutes, and coming into contact with a golden ladybug that has been released grants good Luck for 24 minutes. Conversely, killing a regular ladybug grants bad Luck for three minutes, and killing a golden ladybug grants bad Luck for six minutes. Fishing with a ladybug counts as killing it.

Lantern Nights grant good Luck in all locations.

Luck Potions inTerraria1.4

Consuming a Lesser Luck Potion, Luck Potion, and Greater Luck Potion will increase Luck for three, five, and 10 minutes respectively. Potions do not stack.

Torch Luck inTerraria1.4

Being near a Torch placed in the corresponding biome, or holding one in the corresponding biome, grants good Luck. There is no bad Torch Luck inTerraria1.4, as of May 20, and here is a list of the preferred biomes for each type of Torch:

With the ways to increase Luck inTerraria1.4 established, it is now time to dive into what the stat does. To put things very simply, a player that has maximized their Luck has double the chance of seeing certain items,NPCs, and enemies, and a player that has minimized their Luck has around half the chance of seeing those same things.
