Summary

AStarfieldplayer has shown off a mod that helps with immersion in-game. DespiteStarfield’s official mod toolsbeing nowhere to be found at the moment, creative modders are already finding ways to improve the game of their own accord.

WithStarfield, Bethesda has created another sandbox that it hopes PC gamers will use to mod for years to come. Modding Bethesda games is a must for all PC gamers, with bothSkyrimandFallout 4boasting enormous modding scenes that have extended the lifespan of those titles by many years. However, it remains to be seen ifStarfieldhas the same staying power. Just recently, theStarfieldmultiplayer mod halted development, with the creator citing the quality of the game as the reason for their lack of motivation to continue. Only time will tell if modders will stick around for the long haul this time around.

Footage of a mod, titled “Disable Dialogue Camera,” was posted online by Redditor johngamename. The mod removes the zoom-in effect during dialogue, working in both first and third-person modes. This creates a seamless effect while talking toStarfieldNPCs, which is definitely a far more immersive way to engage in conversation. As the mod works in first-person, those wanting a similar experience to the base game can still find it by walking right up to NPCs and speaking to them close up. “Disable Dialogue Camera” has been available onNexus Modsfor just under a month now, and hopefully the author continues to keep it up to date going forward.

SinceStarfield’sSeptember release, there have already been a ton of awesome mods that affect the game in weird and wonderful ways. OneStarfieldmod even turns every ship into Thomas the Tank Engine, which has become a modding tradition across most Bethesda games over the years. Even ifStarfield’s modding scene doesn’t eventually reach the heights ofSkyrim’s, it’ll still be interesting to see where modders take the title in years to come.

As forStarfielditself, the work continues from Bethesda to bring the game up to the standard many felt it did not live up to upon release. Bethesda recently revealed the2024 content roadmap forStarfield, promising its first expansion as well as updates to the game every six weeks throughout the year. Those who gave up onStarfieldearly may want to keep one eye on the title during the upcoming year, with such an exciting slate planned.
