Stardew Valley Icons Become Tarot Cards
Stardew Valleyplayer littlemooart is gradually building a tarot deck based on the game. They most recently unveiled their designs for the Suit of Swords, which they based off of enemy mobs in the game. Players who frequentStardew Valley’s minesshould be able to recognize a lot of familiar faces here, including Skeletons, Slimes, Dust Sprites, and more. The Suit of Pentacles was previously revealed to be based on the game’s crops, with Ancient Fruit, Cauliflower, and other popular crops on display.
Although there are still a number of Suits left to be completed, the fan has also shared their designs for the Major Arcana cards, which seem to primarily focus onStardew Valley’s townsfolk. The ideas are clearly based upon the NPCs' roles and characteristics in the game. The Magician is the town’s Wizard, The Chariot is represented by Pam and her bus, The Hermit features Linus picking berries, and Justice is the spirit of the farmer’s Grandpa. All of the cards have a clear basis that they’re based upon, including clever nods to the game’s mechanics, like theStardew Valleyfarmer’s Grandpa appearingto the player to tell them what they think of their time living there.
The clever deck by littlemooart has been in development for around three months, and with two suits remaining in the Minor Arcana, it’s possible that the deck could reach completion sometime in 2024. Reception of the cards from fellow players on the subreddit have largely been positive. While not everyone who plays the game is as interested in divination asStardew Valley’s Abigail, these would nonetheless be a charming collection to have, even if only to look at or to display as art.
With updates continuing to arrive forStardew Valley, chances are players will be finding inspiration for creative works for the foreseeable future.
