How to Get the “A Distant Shore” Achievement
To unlock the new “A Distant Shore” achievement inStardew Valley,players must visit Ginger Island. This end-game content is accessible after completing the Community Center missions or Joja contracts. Duringthe first visit to Ginger Island, a unique cutscene is triggered, concluding with the player earning the trophy/achievement.
Players who have already visited Ginger Island beforethe v1.6 Updatewill find the “A Distant Shore” achievement already unlocked. However, if the reward hasn’t been triggered yet,simply pay a quick visit to the island to earn it.
How to Reach Ginger Island
Once you’ve finishedcompleting the Community Center Bundlesor purchasing all Joja contracts, players mustrepair Willy’s Boat. After the vessel’s restoration is complete, purchase a two-way ticket to Ginger Island for 1,000g and sail there on the boat to unlock the hidden achievement. The required materials for repairing the boat and thus unlocking Ginger Island are:
Willy’s Boat is located at the back of his shop. He first mentions it when players visit the Fish Shop after the first summer in town. However, it’s only after restoring the Community Center thatWillyactually invites the player to go and check out his boat.
Whenriding the Ginger Island boat, Willy doesn’t need to be present at the show. He will automatically spawn in the vessel and ride to the destination as long as it’s still within working hours of the Fish Shop.
What Unlocks Wirh the “A Distant Shore” Achievement?
After accessing Ginger Island and getting the “A Distant Shore” achievement,the Paper Hat unlocks at the Abandoned House. You can purchase this new tricorn navy-style hat for 10,000g fromthe Cindersap Forest Mouse. (The hat cannot be sold to any of the Pelican Town vendors.)
As of the 1.6 Update, you canuse the Paper Hat on your pets and horse.
