Marvel’s Spider-Manoffers plenty of memorable suits from the character’s lengthy comic book history for players to wear, though no black suit is seen in the game. One player has remedied this, however, editing the Sam RaimiSpider-Mansuit to create an awesome design inMarvel’s Spider-Man.
With an official Insomniac black suit likely to come duringMarvel’s Spider-Man 2assuming thatPeter clashes with Venomand the Symbiote, it makes sense that none were included in the original game. However, with the Symbiote suit being one of Spider-Man’s most iconic looks of all time, it is understandable that someone felt the need to add the web-slinger’s dark outfit to the beloved PlayStation exclusive.

However, SevenProductionsyt’s suit concept serves multiple purposes, as the edited costume also functions as a rework ofthe Sam Raimi suitseen inSpider-Man 3. One of the many flaws seen in the third film of Raimi’s Spidey trilogy was the version of the Symbiote suit that was used, as it lacked the iconic white spider seen in the comic book version of the costume. Many fans remain disappointed about the Symbiote suit simply being a recolor of the original, making this redesign even more special for those who love the web-slinger.
The post is filled with positive comments, as many highlight their dislike for the original design that was in the movie. AlphaBetes97, for example, says that the original design was “just lazy” and that this fan-made rework is “much better”. Other Redditors back up this claim, highlighting the improvement made by the classic white spider, with a few suggesting that they would go further and remove the raised webbing entirely. With Tobey Maguire’sSpider-Mansupposedly returning inthe MCU’sSpider-Man 3, the design could not come at a more appropriate time.
Love or hate the design, there is clearly plenty of interest in a Symbiote suit for the sequel toMarvel’s Spider-Man. Redditor Infamous2005 highlights how “a Venom enhanced suit” inMarvel’s Spider-Man 2could be “literally the coolest suit ever.” While it will surely look terrific when if it comes, hopefully, the Symbiote suit ismore than just another alternate Spider-Man costumeas well. With the Venom powers inSpider-Man: Miles Moralesadding a great new layer to combat, Peter Parker will surely need something to keep up with the young hero — and special Symbiote abilities could be the answer.
Regardless of what the black suit looks like in Insomniac’s sequel toMarvel’s Spider-Man, though, this design stands as a clear improvement over theSpider-Man 3film’s Symbiote costume. While some fans may be divided on the raised webbing, SevenProductionsyt has succeeded at starting up the hype train for the nextSpider-Mangame’s Symbiote suit.
