Occupied Residence is the second mission inSniper Elite 5, and its kill challenge centers around Friedrich Kummler, an Obersturmfuhrer who has been stealing French antiques. To complete this challenge, players must crush Kummler with a chandelier, and they will unlock the KAR98 and receive some XP for their efforts. That said, it can be difficult to resolve the Occupied Residence kill challenge inSniper Elite 5, and this guide is here to walk fans through the process.
Sniper Elite 5: How to Kill Friedrich Kummler
Find Friedrich Kummler
The first step toward crushing Kummler with a chandelier is to locate the target inside the chateau on the north side of the Occupied Residence map. While there are several routes to Kummler’s position, one of the easiest approaches is to pass through the chateau’s main gate and then immediately head west upon entering the courtyard. Traveling in this direction for a short time will leadSniper Elite 5playersto a corner, and they should climb the vines that they find there to reach an exterior walkway.

Fans should now follow this walkway eastward as far as possible to enter the top floor of the chateau. Players should then descend the flight of stairs that they encounter and head northward to pass through a doorway, which leads to a balcony overlooking the ballroom. Using the binoculars from this position to tag the enemies that are standing in the ballroom will eventually reveal which one is Friedrich Kummler, andsniper video gamefans will be ready to dispatch him once he has been identified.

At this point, it is recommended that players make a manual save, as there are currently some bugs that may prevent thisSniper Elite 5kill challengefrom being marked as complete on a first attempt. Once that has been done, players should sneak to the wall just to the east to find a small rectangular box that houses a chain. All that is left to do now is wait for Kummler to move under the chandelier that hangs above the ballroom and then interact with the chain to drop the fixture upon him.
If this approach does not trigger the completion of theSniper Elite 5Mission 2kill challenge, players should load the aforementioned manual save and wait for Kummler to be under the chandelier once again. With the target in position, fans should fire their weapons at the chain that connects the chandelier to the ceiling, and indeed this should cause the fixture to fall and resolve the task. Notably, if Kummler does not move into a suitable spot below the fixture then players should lure him there by whistling or throwing a bottle.
