While they can be annoying to many players, especially if they have questionable AI, generally NPCs breathe life into a vast world of lore and exploration. TheElder Scrollsseries is chock-full of memorable NPCs, and together they form a sort of glue that make the games that extra bit interesting. It’s also fun to mess around with these non-playable characters, and while it seems it wasn’t intentional, one player discovers that aSkyrimcharacter has the ability to catch arrows with their teeth.

Uploading a couple of screenshots to theSkyrimSubreddit recently, user Ebony_Phoenix has managed to get an NPC to pull off a pretty neat trick. In the images, it can be seen that a necromancer has somehow managed to get an arrow lodged into their mouth. Given how close to the edge the arrow sticks out, and the fact that the NPC is still upright, it looks like they’ve simply discovered a new party trick where they can catch flying arrows in their teeth without succumbing to injury.

It should be pointed out, however, that the character is almost certainly dead, and the arrow in the mouth trick is just a very accurate, albeit perhaps not intentional, shot. Given thatSkyrim’s robed necromancer magesare antagonistic, it seems likely that the user intended to kill the offending character, and the resulting screenshot is simply an act of serendipity, amusing though it is. One user in the comments even suggested that the mage looks like they’re about to ask the player for a romantic dance, with the way the arrow is held in the teeth like a rose.

It shows just how much there is still left to discover in the game. True that this may be a once-in-a-lifetime shot, but the fact that Ebony_Phoenix felt compelled to show it to others means that players have still yet to see everything.Skyrimis full of interesting and useful tricks, some of which are a way for players to gain skills quickly, while others, such as this one, are just funny little tidbits that may break the immersion slightly, but offer some respite during fierce battles.

Skyrim has near-infinite replayability, which, given that it’s still going strong after more than a decade, suggests that there may yet be more things to be unearthed. While many fans are waiting for the release, or even just any official announcement, about the nextElder Scrollsgame, some can take comfort in the fact that what’s currently available can lead to some interesting screenshots and amusing anecdotes.
