Few other games have managed to maintain their popularity and relevancy within the gaming community for as long asThe Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim. Released nearly a decade ago, many fans ofSkyrimhave managed to keep the game alive through a variety of different means, such as fan art and cosplay. In fact, one fan in particular has produced an excellent recreation of one of the most iconic armor sets in the game.

Over the years, there have been numerous instances ofSkyrimfans using various elements presented in the game, as well as references and memes, as inspiration for special outfits. For instance, oneSkyrimfan incorporated their broken knee into a Halloween costumea few years ago. However, this most recentSkyrimcosplay highlights one of the more serious factions within the world of the game.

A Reddit user named Paraste made an incredible replica of the Nightingale armor as part of a Halloween costume. The Nightingale armor is required during a questline for theThieves Guildand is considered by manySkyrimfans to be one of the most cosmetically impressive armor sets in the entire game. Paraste’s costume definitely manages to capture how foreboding the armor looks in-game.

It’s amazing just how detailed and accurate video game costumes can often get, as this Nightingale design almost looks like a live-action version ofSkyrim. Not to mention the cacophony of other impressive designs, such as theportrayal of Aela the Huntressthat was shown off a couple of months ago.

In any case, the fact thatSkyrimreleased almost a decade ago and is still being actively celebrated by its community of fans is quite impressive in its own right. The upcoming release of theSkyrim: Anniversary Editionpromises to add additional content unseen in any other version of the game. However, it does beg to question what the future has in store forThe Elder Scrollsseries as a whole.

The teaser trailer forThe Elder Scrolls 6released over three years ago and yet, there’s been barely any additional news regarding the game’s development. In fairness, Bethesda does have a lot on its plate, considering that in addition to theSkyrim: Anniversary Edition, the studio will also be releasing its new IPStarfieldin November of 2022. Thus, it’s likely that fans ofThe Elder Scrollsseries likely won’t see any news of the sixth installment for quite some time. For those who want to pass the time, making detailed costumes like this one could do the trick.

The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrimis available for PC, PS3, PS4, Switch, Xbox 360, and Xbox One with PS5 and Xbox Series X/S versions coming on July 14, 2025.
