Orphan Blackstar Tatiana Maslany made her MCU debut as Jennifer Walters this week, taking center stage as the titular character of Marvel’s newShe-Hulkseries. A light-hearted and humorous series premiere, Jennifer proved that it’s much easier being green than anyone ever thought, already getting a strong handle over when she Hulks out.
Episode 1 was packed full of MCU Easter eggs and also provided some more insight into the life of Avengers hero Bruce Banner. Together, Bruce and Jennifer gave audiences a more realistic imagining of whatbeing a Hulkis all about, presenting two vastly different individuals who have had to deal with the effects of Gamma radiation in their own ways. Regardless, Jennifer Walters is currently one of the MCU’s most relatable characters, sharing her struggles with being a woman in the modern world, trying to do good her own way, and asking all the right questions about previous Avengers.

Is Captain America A Virgin?
There’s been a longstanding conversation amongst Marvel fans on the internet about whether America’s golden boy, Steve Rogers, died a virgin. The meme got so popular that MCU creators even began commenting on the subject publicly, and this week’s post-credit scene ofShe-Hulkfinally gave fans the answer.
Iron Man’s Memory
Talk ofTony Starkwas frequent in episode 1, as Bruce shared stories about his time spent with his fellow genius. A particularly emotional scene showed the initials B.B and T.S carved into the wood of Bruce’s bar, which the science bros built together.
Bruce also revealed that his reclusive beach house was built for him by Tony, and early on in the episode, Jen stumbles upon a beat-up Iron Man helmet on display, which Bruce keeps around to remember his friend.

Jennifer Walters Is A Disney Fan
As Bruce was testing Jen to find her She-Hulk limits, she suggested he play a Pixar movie to get her emotions reeling. The MCU and Disney have had a longstanding connection in the real world, which spilled over into the MCU itself in thefirst episodeofShe-Hulkthis week.
Jennifer specifically suggested Bruce play the hit filmInside Out,so that she could see the scene where Bing Bong the elephant sacrifices himself for the greater good. This scene was the most devastating in the entire movie, which Disney fans have openly talked about for years. As it turns out, She-Hulk herself is an avid fan of these adorably heartbreaking films.

Natasha and Bruce’s Relationship
When Jen goes Hulk in front of Bruce for the first time, he attempts to calm her down in a tone similar to the one Natasha Romanoff used in years past. It doesn’t work for Jennifer, but Bruce still goes on to tell her that the Widow used this technique to bring him back quite often.
All Marvel fans remember the strange and arguably random romance that briefly blossomed between Bruce and Natasha in 2015, duringAvengers:Age of Ultron. Most people weren’t very into the pairing and do all they can to forget it, but it seems as if Bruce still remembers the short-lived connection he and the deceased Avenger once had.

Sakaaran Space Ship
The catalyst for Jennifer’s transformation inShe-Hulkwas the sudden appearance of a spaceship in the road, causing her and Bruce to suffer through a devastating car crash. Bruce later identified the ship as one belonging to the people of Sakaar, the planet he and Thor stumbled upon inThor: Ragnarok.
The two made their escape from the planet rather ungracefully, setting off all kinds of chaos as the Grandmaster hunted them down. Apparently, Jeff Goldblum’s eccentric character hasn’t let go of the fact that he lost his big, green fighting machine and is looking to reclaim the Hulk for his own amusement.

The Thunderclap Is Back
The Thunderclap is a special move that the Hulk used time and time again to defeat his enemies in the comics, and made its on-screen debut in 2008 with theIncredible Hulkfilm. Since then, the move hasn’t been used again, but it finally returned in the debut episode ofShe-Hulk.Both Bruce and Jennifer can do the Thunderclap, proving that anyone with the unique Gamma gene is capable of using their strength to create this massive burst of wind.
Titania Has Arrived
She-Hulk’s most memorable rival from the Marvel Comics was a woman known as Titania, who finally graced the small screen and joined the MCU. Titania is the villain fans have been waiting to see since theShe-Hulkseries was first announced, back in 2019.
Stirring up trouble in the courtroom, theinfamous Titaniaburst through the walls and interrupted Jen’s closing argument for a case. Jennifer took Titania down relatively easily, and it appeared as if the authorities were going to arrest her, however it’s highly unlikely that this will be the last time audiences see the two super humans battle it out in theShe-Hulkseries.
