The anime takes the audience through the Warring States Period in China, so there is plenty of action and drama.

Golden Kamuyis set in the early 1900s, and it follows Saichi Sugimoto, a soldier who fought in the Russo-Japanese War. To fulfill the final wish of his dying friend, he looks for gold, but is met with only disappointment.
