Bethesda seems to have made a few updates toStarfield’s Steam page very recently, and eagle-eyed gamers caught it quickly thanks to SteamDB’s page update repository. With the game slated for a 2023 release window, chances are good that the ability to pre-order the game will be coming sometime in the short term, though the specifics are still mostly unclear.
Starfieldis almost certain to be one of the biggest releases of the next year, and being a first-party Xbox game thanks to Microsoft’s relatively recent acquisition of Bethesda, it too gets to feature various Xbox insignia and promotional materials on its Steam store page. While these materials don’t necessarily confirm that the pre-order option would be coming already, the fact that someone is updating the game’s store page suggests that something is bound to happen soon.

SinceStarfieldis one of themost hyped upcoming video gamesat this time, it’s not particularly odd that gamers would keep checking its store page or, indeed, its SteamDB repositories. It was the members ofStarfield’s Reddit community who first spotted the fact that Bethesda has seemed to be updating the game’s Steam page over the past couple of days. Specifically, the game received a full suite of Xbox-themed banners to appear across all major implementations of the Steam interface.
There are two major possibilities in play here, with Bethesda likely looking either to reveal the game’s official hardware requirements over the coming days or to put it on sale as a pre-order. SinceStarfieldwill be Bethesda’s largest gameyet, odds are good that both the publisher and the developer will attempt to maximize its outreach, and making pre-orders available will be the first step in doing so.
Note, however, that it’s still worth keeping a pinch of salt at hand for the time being. Steam repository updates don’t necessarily always signal an imminent page update, though they are often a good early warning that something is happening. Bethesda’s player base still hasplenty of questions aboutStarfieldat this time, and a page update could instead be designed to offer a better suite of early game information to prospective buyers.
Whatever the case may be, it certainly is only a matter of time beforeStarfieldpre-orders are made available. It’s just far from certain whether it’s going to happen as a result of the recent store page changes. With that in mind, these updates certainly do suggest that something new is going to happen on that front soon, potentially confirming or denying the variousStarfieldrumorsthat have come up over time.
