Nintendo and The Pokemon Company hosted a special presentation called Pokemon Presents that unveiled a slew of new information on upcoming games in thePokemonfranchise. However, the presentation ended with the announcement that another Pokemon Presents will be taking place on June 24. Nothing is known about what next week’s event will entail beyond that it will feature a “big project” for the franchise. That could be just about anything, but some fans think that it will be aPokemon Let’s Go GoldandLet’s Go Silverannouncement.
The reason why fans have come to this conclusion is due to what sat behind The Pokemon Company CEO Tsunekazu Ishihara at the end of thePokemon Presentsevent. The shelf behind him is almost exclusively made up ofPokemon GoldandSilverplushies, not to mention a copy ofPokemon Let’s Go Eeveewith Umbreon and Espeon plushies sitting in front of it. The latter is perhaps the most damning evidence in favor of aPokemon Let’s Go GoldandLet’s Go Silverannouncement, with some taking this to mean that the featured Pokemon will be the popular Eevee evolutions Espeon and Umbreon.

Of course, thePokemonannouncement coming next week could be just about anything. It may have something to do with morePokemon Sword & ShieldDLC, or maybe it’s a newPokemonmovie announcement. Whatever the case may be, fans will just need to tune in on June 24 to find out.
If Nintendo and The Pokemon Company have another bigPokemonannouncement up their sleeve, it’s a bit strange that they didn’t make the announcement as part of today’s presentation. However, perhaps the companies didn’t want whatever next week’s announcement is to overshadow the reveals from today. For those that didn’t tune in, a number of majorPokemonfranchise announcements were made at the Pokemon Presents event, including the reveal ofNew Pokemon Snapfor the Switch.
TheNew Pokemon SnapSwitch announcement was easily the biggest reveal of the event, but some other exciting news was announced as well. For example, it was confirmed that the popular augmented reality mobile gamePokemon GOwill be getting Mega Evolutionsat some point in the future, which should shake things up quite a bit.
WhilePokemonfanatics wait for more news on next week’s big event, they can check out theIsle of Armor expansion forSwordandShield, which is available now.
