Cyberpunk 2077may be getting moreCyberpunk: Edgerunnerscrossover content with the launch of the game’sPhantom Libertyexpansion. The anime adaptation of CD Projekt Red’s take on the legendaryCyberpunkuniverse ended up being substantially more successful than most might’ve hoped for, going so far as to reinvigorate the players' interest in the game.

AfterEdgerunnersstarted making rounds via Netflix,Cyberpunk 2077reached a new sales milestone, signifying that there was more life left in the game following its problematic release. With a batch of crossover clothing and weapons, and a few other bits of content,CP2077clawed its way back to relevancy, helping set the stage for the future launch of the majorPhantom LibertyDLC.

However, it seems that CDPR isn’t done withEdgerunnersjust yet. ACyberpunk 2077fan by the Reddit nickname of Acrobatic_Internal_2 discovered an unfinished quest log referencing some names and organizations from the acclaimed anime. Specifically, the “%DLC_MAIN% : CASINO WARFARE” entry, which tasks the player with calling Falco, a major character from the anime, as well as watching a BD from NightCorp. The quest log also references the legendary Netrunner Alt Cunningham, who would presumably be making an appearance as well.

While there have already been discussions ofCyberpunk 2077’s inevitable sequel, it’s obvious that CD Projekt Red still has big plans for its first major foray into science fiction. There’s no telling whether the discovery made by Acrobatic_Internal_2 is an actual upcoming questline, a secret WIP entry added by an unlikely mod, or just a leaked batch of unfinished content, but leveragingEdgerunnersonce again could certainly pay off once the DLC comes out.

The potential release of moreEdgerunnerstie-ins is far from the main draw of the upcoming DLC. Most players may find it more interesting thatCyberpunk 2077: Phantom Libertyfeatures Idris Elbain the role of a New United States agent, Solomon Reed. Since CD Projekt Red has promised that the DLC will also introduce a wealth of side content, however, the studio may be looking at ways to truly make this expansion a must-have, and doing more withEdgerunnersmaterials may end up paying off.

There are plenty more upgrades forCP2077on the way, too. The most notable of them all isCyberpunk 2077’s upcoming RT: Overdrive graphics setting, which cranks its lighting, reflections, and shadow-casting to eleven. The launch of these settings will truly future-proof the game for some time to come, as well as bring its visuals up to par with the likes ofMetro: Exodusin its upgraded enhanced edition.

Cyberpunk 2077is out now for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X. ThePhantom LibertyDLC is due to launch exclusively on current-gen consoles sometime in 2023.
