Call of Duty: Vanguardhasn’t even been out for a week and there are apparently already talks of a couple of special guest stars being added to the game as skins in the near future. Specifically, the guest stars in question are Marvel’s Captain America and the title character oftheIndiana Jonesmovies.
This comes from Tom Henderson, a reputable insider who has accurately shared information on theCall of Dutyseries and other games likeBattlefield 2042in the past. Henderson doesn’t share much more beyond these characters’ inclusion, only adding that Disney and Activision were in in talks about potential partnerships in the summer and that he has seen strings of code which suggest that there will be some kind of event.

ConsideringCall of Duty: Vanguardis set during the Second World War, it makes perfect sense to include Captain America and Indiana Jones as unlockable skins. Anyone with a passing knowledge of Marvel should know that Captain America fought against the Nazis and Hydra during World War 2 (one of the most famous comic book covers of all time is him punching Hitler) before being frozen in ice and waking up in modern day.
This is assuming thatCall of Duty: Vanguardwill feature the original Captain America, Steve Rogers, and not one of his successors like Sam Wilson, who inherited the mantle in both the comics and in theFalcon and the Winter Soldier TV showon Disney+. As for Indiana Jones, while he works as a college professor in the movies, he was once a military spy who fought in both World Wars, and he has regularly scrapped with Nazis during his adventures.
This isn’t the only rumored crossover for the game either. Earlier this week, a dataminer claimed that there will be an anime-themed crossover at some point, namely withAttack on Titan. If true, it’s not entirely clear yet whether any of the anime’s characters will be made playable or not or if the Titans themselves will make an appearance as enemies.
While these potential crossovers may be exciting to some, it’s worth remembering thatpublisher Activisionis still in a midst of a lawsuit filed by the State of California back in the summer. The company was accused of allowing a toxic work environment to fester, resulting in numerous allegations of harassment, abuse, and gender discrimination. Last month, Activision sought to have the lawsuit paused but its request was denied.
