With 2022 looking to be one packed year withPlayStationexclusives such asGod of WarandHorizon: Forbidden West, many gamers have looked to this holiday season as the perfect chance to get their hands on the elusive console However, theproblem of actually getting a PS5 is still persistingas it has done since the console’s release.

The unavailability of the PS5 is down to more than a few factors. Reduced production rates, a pandemic delaying production, and scalpers have all combined to make getting a next-gen experience near impossible to get. Out of all the limiting factors, scalpers have proven to be the most frustrating for many gamers, as they buy up the available stock using bots, and then try to sell them on to people at incredibly high prices. While PS5 scalper prices are dwindling, and even legislation being pushed to combat the practice, many are still struggling to get their hands on a PS5.

The biggest retailer of them all, Amazon, has recently updated itsPlayStation 5console listing, indicating that there will be a restock coming soon. There’s been no given date or time for when the restock will take place, though usually Amazon indicates a time and then leaves its customers to grab the consoles if they can, so this time it seems the retailer is giving customers more time to prepare.

Although, there is a slight catch in Amazon’s restock, and that is the fact that only Amazon Prime members will be able to get the chance to get their hands on one of the consoles similar to previous restocks. Prime doesn’t only offer a chance at a PS5 for gamers though, and every month due toPrime Gaming people looking for free gamescan get their hands on some PC titles every month.

It’s been over twelve months since the release of the PlayStation 5, and the fact that so many people who want the console have to wait until restocks to get a chance at getting their hands on a console is a sad truth of the industry as it stands. EvenPlayStation CEO Jim Ryan is fed upof the way things are, but gamers don’t have to look to Amazon if they want a PS5 around this holiday season. Target has hinted at a possible leftover restock, and PS Direct hosted an invite-only PS5 restock yesterday. These alternatives may help those looking for the Digital Edition of the console, which Amazon does not seem to be restocking.
