Overwatchfans have shared plenty of clever plays over the years, with well-timed Ultimate combos often leading to some memorable clips. WhileOverwatchfans may feel like they have seen everything over the years, a new basketball-focused kill proves otherwise.

Overwatch’s basketballs are found in the game’s dropships, giving players something to keep busy with while they are waiting in the spawn room. Hitting the balls with a melee attack will see them bouncing around the room, with many often trying to get them into the basketball hoop on one end of the ship. If they succeed, a little victory celebration will play, giving theOverwatchplayerwho made the shot some bragging rights before the match officially begins. Beyond that, though, the basketballs are usually irrelevant to the match itself.

However, while the basketballs are intended to be just a bit of good fun and rarely result in anyOverwatchclips, Redditor McMagicMarv showed what can happen if players work together to bring the basketball out of the spawn area. Though it is not shown in the clip, McMagicMarv or the Cassidy player they are working with seemingly punched the basketball from the dropship all the way to the objective – a process that likely took them a fair bit of time. From there, they waited for an enemy to get close.

After an enemy Soldier 76 walks near the basketball, the Zarya player shoots their Graviton Surge at the ball. With the Surge catching the Soldier 76 player and the basketball, McMagicMarv then punches the basketball. Hilariously, it flies straight up into the air after being hit, taking the Graviton Surge and the Soldier 76 player along with it. While this likely annoyed the Soldier user, as they may have assumed it was a bug of some kind, they likely became furious whenCassidycame into play.

After Zarya’s Graviton Surge was fired, the Cassidy player activated High Noon. With no way to protect themselves, the flying Soldier 76 was shot out of the air by the Cassidy fan. If that was not enough, Cassidy managed to gun down a Pharah as well, making the unique play even more stylish. Unsurprisingly, theOverwatchcommunityhas responded well to the clip, with it bringing in over 3,000 upvotes so far. Redditor FGC_Orion even suggested the alternate name “Fly Noon,” though they like McMagicMarv’s title of “Space Cowboy” even more. Regardless of how players want to refer to it, the amount of luck and effort required to pull it off makes it deserving of praise.

While it remains to be seen how Zarya’s kit will changewhenOverwatch 2releases, hopefully awesome maneuvers like this are still possible. For now, though, players may want to be wary of any basketballs they see outside of spawn.

Overwatchis available now on PC, PS4, Switch, and Xbox One.
