Rick and Mortyare packing up to go on a deserved holiday vacation. Still, before that happens, the series will be dropping a season finale that promises an unforgettable Christmas for the Smith family.

That’s because the final episode of season 6, “Ricktional Mortpoon’s Rickmas Mortcation,” looks eager to tap into the holiday spirit, especially now that the show’s last few entries have seen Rick embrace his personal relationships in a new light. Although this will hardly be the first time thatRick and Mortyfeatures Christmas as its motif, the new teaser for episode 10 suggests this time it could lean more heavily into that theme.

As a preview, Adult Swim (@swimpedia) uploaded two different clips. In the first one, Rick is seen entering the family living room to surprise everyone with presents. He hands Jerry an interdimensional version of theMiracle on 34th Streetand gives his two daughters matching Christmas gifts. Although it is not out of the norm forRick and Mortyto make a big jump from one setting to another, the way season 6 has developed, along with the title, has all the makings for a full Holiday special.

Space Beth was inRick and Mortyseason 6 episode 9, but it’s still nice for the series to point out that no one knows which Beth is the real one versus the clone. Despite the second, shorter 15-second trailer seemingly ditching the Christmas spirit as Rick and Morty experiment on some alien creature, the underground Sushi bar they discover is located underneath the Smith family home. Perhaps this suggests a big chunk of the entry could develop in the house.

This is not the first timeRick and Mortyhas experimented with holiday-themed episodes, as even this season’s bizarre “Bethic Twinstinct” took place during a family Thanksgiving, and past entries such as “Rattlestar Ricklactica” and “Anatomy Park” both occur around Christmas. Nevertheless, the fact that Rick seems so joyful to take in the holiday cheer does come off as the perfect recipe for the family evening to suddenly become ruined by some uninvited alien threat or maybe even Rick Prime himself.

Rick and Mortyseason 6 has done a lotto develop the show’s bigger storyline, especially when it comes to Rick evolving from the cynical protagonist he’s always been into someone who genuinely cares about Morty and his family, and who’s also not afraid to show a tiny a bit of emotion.

TheRick and Mortyseason 6 finale airs on Sunday on Adult Swim.
