This show certainly knows how to make a comeback, although it was more the story itself leading to this point more thanthe directing or the animationwhich was the most impactful aspect of this season’s first few episodes. Still,Jujutsu Kaisenepisode 33 had some exceptional moments and a great intro before the opening that did show flashes of the series' potential.

Jujutsu Kaisenhad a massive week in both the manga and the anime adaption to the point avoiding spoilers was close to impossible. That, despite being annoying for the fans, it’s also a testament to its increasing popularity. Making even more statements whether it should be considered one of the best shonen ever, something that Mappa and the whole cast and staff of the anime have contributed to.

Chaos, Death, Or Gojo On Edge
What do you think of Satoru Gojo? That was the question different students and colleagues of Satoru faced. Some adjectives were brought up, but what was clear from the beginning was that he is the strongest. That level of confidence everyone had in him made it impossible to even think about his possible defeat, furthermore, they probably couldn’t think about a situationwhere he would have been cornered.
The plan Pseudo-Geto had orchestrated relied on two key factors, making him contain himself and keeping him occupied for a certain period of time. This episode brought a few of thebest visual, impactful scenesin the entire series, thanks greatly to Mahito’s twisted intervention. As always, the scariest cursed spirit managed to break havoc arriving at Shibuya with a train full of his modified humans.

At the same time, even more people started to fall after Hanami’s technique disappeared, and the number of enemies and victims increased in a matter of seconds to the thousands. However, they missed one detail, Gojo had already come to the realization that he wasn’t going to save everyone, so instead, he would verify to exorcise them. For two-tenths of a second, he released his Domain Expansion Infinite Void, leaving everyone there temporarily unconscious, andimmediately used that openingto turn the tables.
No Time To Catch Your Breath
Satoru had just defeated over a thousand transfigured humans in 299 seconds when he,without knowing, signed his defeat. Even if it wasn’t in their plans, it worked just fine. 20 minutes had passed, he was standing there and all that was left was keeping him in that same spot for a minute. His only friend coming back from death right in front of him, even confirmed by the power of his Six Eyes, could freeze you for a minute.
RELATED:Jujutsu Kaisen: Who Is Kenjaku?
The Prison Realm, the artifact that can seal anything and anyone was the ultimate weapon against someone whose power, as his technique, is limitless. The animation was on point for this awaited encounter, their expressions, the flashback of all Suguru’s moments in the show and in Jujutsu Kaisen 0flowing through Satoru’s thoughts not too fast that they become meaningless, not too slow that they become annoying for the spectator. And like Satoru, everyone felt that something wasn’t right. Everything was telling him that this person standing right in front of him was Geto, but his soul was telling him otherwise.
And It Comes Off
It was the same body, the same cursed energy, but it wasn’t Suguru Geto. The mask, or the top of his head, finally came off revealing the truthbehind Geto’s impossible revival after Satoru himself killed him. This creature is a parasite type that goes one body from another by replacing its brain with itself. That allows to use of the body’s innate technique and cursed energy, more than enough reason to be interested in someone as powerful as Suguru Geto.
His name, although it wasn’t revealed during this episode, is Kenjaku, a curse user that has being able to live for a thousand years thanks to his innate technique that allows him to transfer himself into new bodies every once in a while. Thanks to Geto’s Cursed Spirit Manipulation and his alliance with a group of Special Grade Cursed Spirits he is plotting to take over the world and reshape it to his taste. And it was only possiblebecause Satoru was reluctantto let Suguru’s body be cremated. Kind of surprising no one noticed it was missing.

Mechamaru’s Message
The last seconds of the episode defined the rest of the Shibuya Incident. No one could have known what happened to Satoru if it wasn’t for Kokichi Muta’s last wish. Before his death he made sure that at the time the sealing happened a few of his devices living on the remnant of his cursed energy will notify his friends and classmates, so they could help Satoru scape his fate and interrupt Pseudo-Geto’s plans. A positive cliffhanger after all this episode entailed.
From this point on the Shibuya Incident will turn into an all-out battle that will wreak havoc in theJujutsu Kaisenworld, surely, with a few surprises, heartbreaks and epic moments. It’s now time for everyone else to change roles and come to Gojo’s rescue and find out more about Kenjaku’s past and his true intentions and plans, especially involving the series' protagonist, Yuji Itadori.
