Summary
After conquering the Unova region, aPokemon Whiteplayer and fan took to social media to show off some amazing art they drew of their team of six powerful Pokemon. Using an art style that otherPokemonfans recognized, the fan was complimented for their attention to detail and for making a fitting tribute to their team.
Originally released in 2010,Pokemon Black and Whitewere part of the fifth generation ofPokemongames, which took players to the first region in the mainline series to not be inspired by Japan. Instead, the design and geography of Unova were based on New York City and the surrounding area. With the differences being stark between both versions,Pokemon Black and Whitefeatured and juxtaposed two distinct legendary Pokemon on their cover art. In the case ofPokemon White,thedark-toned Electric Pokemon called Zekromwas prominently shown as a way to emphasize the two-toned theme of the Unova region.

As players traveled to a portion ofUnova in The Indigo Disk expansionforPokemon Scarlet and Violet, one player paid tribute to the team they used during a recent run ofPokemon White. On Reddit, a user named ImBigDave drew his roster of formidable Pokemon and posted their handiwork on the r/pokemon subreddit. Inspired by the art style ofPokemonseries artist Ken Sugimori, ImBigDave’sPokemon Whiteteam consisted of Klinklang, Archeops, Haxorus, Darmanitan, Serperior, and Seismitoad. The Unova region map was the background for the hand-drawn piece, and each of the OP’s Pokemon were drawn striking an aggressive, battle-hardened pose.
In addition, each member of ImBigDave’s team originated fromPokemon Black and White. The OP also used no duplicate types across his entirePokemonteam. As a result of the type and move variety at his disposal, ImBigDave and his six Unova Pokemon would be tough to beat in any given battle. However,Pokemon Scarlet and Violetplayers who wanted to replicate ImBigDave’s team found the task impossible at the time of writing. Of the Pokemon on the OP’s roster, only Serperior and Haxorus were part of The Indigo Disk DLC. Ergo, the rest of the team were amongthe many missing Pokemon from the ninth generation.
For his effort, other Redditors praised ImBigDave for paying tribute to his team in a recognizable art style. Asdifferent styles ofPokemonfan artcontinued to amaze fans, the creativity ofPokemonartists such as ImBigDave remains as consistent as ever.
