Pokemon GOplayers will have the chance to catch a shiny Togedemaru later this month.Pokemon GOrecently celebrated its eight-year anniversary with the usual Pokemon GO Fest event. Pokemon GO Fest featured increased spawns for rare Pokemon, Necrozma in raids, and many more reasons for fans to be excited about Niantic’s augmented reality mobile game.
As usual,Pokemon GOplayers were incentivized to take part in Pokemon GO Fest through Ultra Unlock rewards. By collectively completing objectives as a community,Pokemon GOplayers unlocked various eventsthat Niantic will roll out to the game in the coming weeks. One such event is Strength of Steel, which is themed entirely around Steel-type Pokemon.
TheUltra Unlock: Strength of Steel event runs from Thursday, July 25 at 10:00am to Tuesday, July 30 at 8:00pm local time. The Strength of Steel start date will see the debut of shiny Togedemaru. Shiny Togedemaru doesn’t look all that much different from thestandard version of the Pokemon, but fans will no doubt jump at the opportunity to add the rare critter to their roster.

There’s even more forPokemon GOfans to look forward to while the event is live. While Ultra Unlock: Strength of Steel is active, players can look forward to Additional Candy XL if they’re level 31 and up, additional candy for nice throws or better, and triple Stardust for catching Pokemon. They can also enjoy wild encounters with various event-themed Pokemon, akaSteel-type Pokemon. Steel-type Pokemon will also appear in one-star and three-stair raids. All of the event-themed Pokemon that make up Ultra Unlock: Strength of Steel have shiny variants available, soPokemon GOplayers should be sure to keep an eye out.
Ultra Unlock: Strength of Steel is far from the last special event that will take place duringPokemon GO’s ongoing Shared Skies season. Shared Skies is expected to run until September 3, so there should be plenty of events forPokemon GOfans to look forward to in August as well.
