Usually, finding a shiny version of any Pokemon is a reason to celebrate, but one has recently been discovered withinPokemon GOthat isn’t sitting well with players.
There are now many instances of players catching a Shiny Gible, which has surprised the community and caused a bit of controversy. This is because developer Niantic hasn’t announced its release. Although it was known that Gible, a rarely seen Dragon-type, was already inPokemon GO, its shiny version was never officially disclosed. It likely signals this sought-after Pokemon will not be receiving its own Community Day as many had hoped.

Traditionally, shiny versions of Pokemon are introduced through a Community Day, where certain Pokemon are given special attention. These chosen critters appear in the wild more often, making the chances of catching them higher – this includes their coveted shiny versions. The events run for three hours, with the exception ofCommunity Weekends. With no Community Day announced for Gible to usher in its shiny version, the odds of seeing an event dedicated to it are now slim.
There are quite a few players who would like to get their hands on a Gible so they can evolve it into a Garbite and Garchomp, but this Pokemon is a rare sight. Without a Community Day, trainers will also be short on candy to evolve the Gible, should they be lucky enough to catch one. There is no confirmation from developer Niantic that a Community Day is out of the question, so there is still a possibility one could arrive in the future. Gible fans will just have to hold out hope.
Thefirst Community Day of 2020is right around the corner, but many fans are predicting Piplup to be the Pokemon in the spotlight. None of the details have been disclosed on that front as of yet, however. The most players have gotten from Niantic is a start date, which was announced earlier this week. The event will kick off on January 19, so players still have a few weeks to prepare. Until then, trainers can seek out thebest Unova Pokemon in the gameto build up their teams and prepare for new content.
