Summary
Pokemon GOhas added a quality-of-life update involving the use of item sharing in parties, but not all fans are cheering for this new feature. This particularPokemon GOfeature was already leaked a few weeks back, confirming a renewed focus on team-based gameplay, but apparently some players feel like item sharing will be prone to abuse by those who are malicious.
Pokemon GOis nearing its eighth anniversary this July. In the eight years since its original release back in 2016, the game has seen most of the franchise’s over 1,000 Pokemon added as creatures that can be found and captured while walking around outside in the real world. There’s still always something for players, both new and old, to do, such asPokemon GOraidsand special events, which are constantly being updated.

The newPokemon GOupdate strengthens the team-based gameplay by allowing the whole party to benefit from certain items' effects. For example, one player in the party can fire offone of their Lucky Eggs inPokemon GOso that the whole team can enjoy the EXP boost, and so on. While there are those who favor this new update, there are some pessimistic players who feel like unscrupulous gamers will take advantage of this new feature. They fear that those with multiplePokemon GOaccounts could cheat by using more than one device to join a single party and share their own items to boost themselves while going around.
Items That Can Be Shared In a Pokemon GO Party
Other than the fears of cheating in the game, some Redditors feel underwhelmed by this new change inPokemon GO.One even said that it was the “tiniest of bones” thrown at players. Others simply could not get the item-sharing feature to work despite it being presumably live. Most players, however, have welcomed the update, as many of them actuallyplayPokemon GOwith family and friendsand see this as a boost to their less-experienced teammates, who are generally younger and newer to the game.
Meanwhile, there are other complaints about the game in general. Some Redditors have joked about how the item-sharing update was not announced publicly by Niantic, whereas thecurrent Rediscover Kanto game event inPokemon GOwas met with less-than-positive reactions. While no game will be able to fully please its entire fanbase, andPokemon GOwill certainly not do that anytime soon, the fact that there are still over 80 million active players is a testament to how its formula still works despite any poorly received changes.
