Another feature that debuted this year is the Routes, bringing a characteristic element of the main game series toPokemon GO. With Routes, players document and share their walking routes with other players. Despite the rough debut,Pokemon GOkeeps adjusting Routesto optimize the feature and make players' experience less frustrating.

Pokemon GOlaunched the Party Play feature, allowing players to team up. UnlikehowPokemon GORaids Battles work, players host a party by accessing the Party tab via their in-game profile. The game will generate a numerical code or QR code to share with three Trainers nearby. Once the players have gathered and the host has started the party,Pokemon GOwill take the guests back to the map. In the related tab, players see the activity summary divided into Pokemon, Throws, Adventure, Battle, and General categories. Celebrating the launch of Party Play,Pokemon GOplayers can take part in a Special Research and get exclusive Eevee-themed t-shirts for their avatars.

WhilePokemon GOfrequently holds various events regularly, thePokemon GOleak that revealed Party Playsaid that the feature would have its own challenges. With the launch of Party Play, this information is now official. After forming a party,Pokemon GOplayers will see a notification asking which challenge they want to take in. These challenges can be catching Pokemon, spinning PokeStops, or battling in Raids, and players get rewards for completing challenges. Additionally, Party Play has a bonus called Party Power. This bonus doubles the damage caused by the player’s next Charged Attack, and the more Trainers in the party, the greater the Party Power.

Party Play introduces a new form of interaction forPokemon GOplayers, bringing them together in a more immersive experience. Despite the exciting announcement, some players have expressed concern about the privacy issues that Party Play could bring. Although this has the potential to become aproblem forPokemon GOplayers, Niantic is expected to update its Help Center with articles related to the new feature.
