Pokemon GOis officially bringing back the Bug Out event for 2024.Pokemon GOhosts a wide variety of events throughout any given year. Some of these specialPokemon GOevents are one-off affairs, while others are annual events that come back every year. One such recurring event inPokemon GOis Bug Out, a special event themed after the Bug-type Pokemon that players can catch in the augmented reality mobile game.

PastPokemon GOBug Out eventshave given players the chance to fill out their Pokedex and add missing Bug-types to their roster. The same opportunities will be afforded to players who participate in the 2024 version of thePokemon GOBug Out event, which is scheduled to start next week.

As announced by Niantic,Pokemon GOBug Out 2024 will take place from Friday, April 12 at 10:00am local time and last until Wednesday, April 17 at 8:00pm local time. While the event is live,Pokemon GOplayers can expectBug-type Pokemonspawns to increase dramatically, with the chance to add shinies of each creature to their collection.Pokemon GORaids will also be getting a shake-up during the Bug Out event, giving players even more opportunities to snag some Bug-types.

Notably,Pokemon GO’s Mega Raids will feature the debut of Mega Heracross. Replacing Mega Charizard X for the duration of the Bug Out event,Pokemon GOplayers can try their hand at battling and capturing Mega Heracross. Niantic previously teasedMega Heracross' debut in the game, and so it’s exciting to get confirmation that the missing Mega Evolution will finally be available toPokemon GOplayers.

Beyond wild spawn and Raid Battle changes,Pokemon GOplayers can also look forward to special Field Research tasks themed after Bug-type Pokemon, special limited-time Collection Challenges, and newPokemon GOAvataritems themed after Burmy and Combee.

Bug Out 2024 Field Research Task Rewards

WhilePokemon GOplayers check out all the new content coming as part of the Bug Out 2024 event, they can take advantage of double XP for catching Pokemon with Nice Throws or better, increased Candy for Nice Throws or better, increasedCandy XLfor Nice Throws or better for Trainers that are level 31 and up, and increased chances to encounter Shiny Combee and Shiny Burmy. Needless to say,Pokemon GOplayers that have yet to catch some of the Bug-types featured during the event should be sure to participate in Bug Out 2024 from April 12 to April 17.
