ThePokemon GOMega Buddy event is here, and it is shaking up raids. This event asks players to complete a timed research line to unlock a special Mega Gengar research during Halloween. The event lasts from September 22 to September 28 and features specialPokemon GOraid bosses at Tiers 1, 3, 5, and Mega.

This event comes withfour levels of Mega Pokemon research. There are additional bonuses during this time, such as Mega-Evolved Pokemon staying powered-up longer and poffins having increased durations. In terms of wild Pokemon, many of the ones that are being found in the wild are also raid bosses, so it should be easy to get the candy needed to evolve them.

Pokemon GO Mega Buddy raid list

Mega Pidgeot

Mega Venasaur

While many of these Pokemon have been featured as raid bosses before, there are a few that don’t get a lot of attention. Doduo for instance hasn’t seen a lot of spawn time for many players. Wailmer is always a welcome sight considering how many candy it takes to evolve it into a Wailord. Timburr is a Tier 1 boss that isuseful against Team Rocket GO leaderssince it evolves into a strong Fighting type.

Once players get to Tier 3, it is a lot more familiar. Alolan Exeggutor, Lapras, and Dragonite have all been featured many times as raid bosses. That being said, these are still powerful Pokemon, and players can never have enough strong Dragonites. An interesting note is that every single raid boss has the capabilities ofbeing a shiny Pokemon during this eventexcept for Dragonite.

The Tier 5 boss is one of the originals in the game, as Articuno will stick around in raids for a little longer. The legendary Ice/Flying bird packs a punch with its attacks, so players need to bring plenty of Electric, Fire, Rock, and Steel to take down this boss. NotablePokemon players can use to beat Articunoare Tyranitar, Rampardos, and Magnezone.

The Mega tier doesn’t see any change from the previous September raid list. The starters and Pidgeot are all great Pokemon for players to catch. Blastoise seems to boast the toughest match, so players need to be careful about how many allies they have when taking one on.

In addition to catching these powerful Pokemon, players need to make sure they complete the Timed Research in order to unlock theMega Gengar research when it comes toPokemon GO. With the Halloween Event only a few weeks away, players have a lot to look forward to.
