APokemonfan created a Paradox version of the Water/Ground creature Swampert, and recently shared it with fellow fans.Paradox Pokemon first debuted inPokemon Scarlet and Violet, which were described as Pokemon from the past and future. While the games introduced a number of Paradox-form Pokemon, many fans also took it upon themselves to create their own versions.
InPokemon Scarlet and Violet, players are introduced to two Paradox Pokemon, Koraidon (Scarlet) and Miraidon (Violet), which are ancients and future versions of Cyclizar, respectively. But other Paradox Pokemon, like Great Tusk and Iron Treads, can only be caught in Area Zero once players reach the endgame.

Pokemonfan and Reddit user kaltzer shared that Swampert was their all-time favorite Pokemon, so they decided to whip up a Paradox version of it that’s a Fire- and Flying-type. Their post showed the Paradox Pokemon sporting a shiny blue skin with sparkly pink wings and spines sticking out from its body. While the fan didn’t indicate whether this was an ancient or futuristic version, one would think that it’s the latter because it looks like a robot.
Likewise, kaltzer asked fellowPokemonfans for their input on Paradox Swampert’s name and Pokedex entry. The comments didn’t disappoint as many shared their thoughts, suggesting names like Steel Skipper and Iron Fin. One said that Paradox Swampert could be seen competing for sunlight in Area Zero as it relies on it to keep its fins healthy. Meanwhile, another commenter compared kaltzer’s creation to a Digimon, probably because of its mech-like qualities, such as the wings and its metallic skin.
In the past, many creative fans have shared their interpretations of Paradox Pokemon, such asClefable, Ninetales, and Zapdos. It’s clear that many are curious to find out what these creatures looked like in the past and future. Interestingly, it’s also been pointed out that Paradox Pokemon were first referenced in the 3DS remakes ofOmega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire, where they delved deeper into Groudon and Kyogre’s ancient origins and introduced their special variants called Primal Reversions.
With the continuing success ofPokemon Scarlet and Violet, it will be interesting to see if Paradox Pokemon will appear again in future games. Despite the games' rocky start upon launch, many players still seem hooked on it as they participate inTera Raidsand patiently wait to catch as many rare Pokemon as they can.
Pokemon ScarletandVioletare available now for Nintendo Switch.
