One such case is user The_Mighty_Bird, who shared on Reddit a series of images showing the assembly of their impressive custom Unown keyboard. Introduced in Gen 2, Unown is one of theweirdest Pokemon in the franchise. Unown has 26 different forms based on the Latin alphabet, which gives the Pokemon the literal appearance of “the letters of the alphabet have become sentient.” For their project to become real, The_Mighty_Bird used an HSK87 Coloured Glaze keyboard and different switches. The keyboard was customized with Unown keycaps for the characters and a Pokeball keycap for the ESC key. Both were purchased on Etsy, a website specializing in handmade products.Click here to see the full Reddit post.
In the comments on the post made by The_Mighty_Bird on the officialPokemonsubreddit other users said they liked the idea. However, one user commented that even though they liked the keyboard, they would have a hard time using it due to difficulty with the Unown alphabet. This is not the first timePokemonfans have created a custom Unown keyboard, after all, as the Pokemon’s nature makes it ideal to be used in this kind of project. The idea is always based on the same concept: swapping the normal characters for Unown. But because each fan uses a different keyboard and aesthetics, the results are different.
The custom Unown keyboard made by The_Mighty_Bird stands out mainly because of the neon pink glow that gives it a modern and stylish look. At first, the keyboard could be a problem for thePokemonfan who has not yet memorized the Unown alphabet. The solution would come from the muscle memory of frequent typing.
