The studio behindPhantom Blade 0, S-Game, confirms how long an average playthrough of the game could be, along with what it offers in terms of multiplayer. Sony recently held a showcase of titles that will be arriving on the PS5 in the near future. This includedSpider-Man 2,a remake ofMetal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater, and the fast-paced samurai-themed game known asPhantom Blade 0. The focus on quick gameplay and its distinct setting madePhantom Blade 0stand out as one of the more unique titles at the show.
Phantom Blade 0is a sequel to thePhantom Blade: Executionersmobile game that was developed by the studio and released exclusively for the Chinese market. This game takes place after the events of the aforementioned title, where players are put in the shoes of an assassin named Soul who has been framed for murdering one of his former masters.Phantom Blade 0’s gameplay trailerproceeded to show off several features, such as the fast-paced stylized action gameplay, premise, and enemies that players will come across. The studio behind the game has recently clarified some aspects about the game, such as if it has multiplayer and how long it will take to beat.

These were posted in a Q&A that was conducted in the game’s official Discord server, which answered a number of important questions. According to this session, the main story alone will consist of 30-40 hours of playtime, with a ton of side-quests available to tackle. Completing the story ofPhantom Blade 0will grant access to endgame content like a multiplayer dungeon, boss rush mode, and a rogue-like game mode too. The studio also notes that the game won’t be aPS5exclusive title as well.
In terms of gameplay,Phantom Blade 0will be similar to traditional hack-and-slash games, with itscombat being described as similar toNinja Gaiden.
The combat sequences that were shown off in the trailer was also stated to be running in-engine, with nothing pre-rendered. There were however special camera tools that were used by the devs to make the trailer look more cinematic. The developers also notePhantom Blade 0will also contain skills that are common within action games such as aparry mechanicand dodge roll.
