Shortly after the game’s reveal in June, Atlus has been sharing information about this tactics-based strategy RPG over the past few weeks, such as details aboutTactica’s new characterslike Erina and Toshiro, the mechanics, and even some of its DLC. One piece of DLC that caught the attention of many fans was the third Challenge pack.
ThisPersona 5 TacticaRepaint Your Heart DLC leaksuggested that Kasumi Yoshizawa and Goro Akechi would be a part of the game. Goro Akechi is a character who was also in the original 2016 game, where he was a late-game member with a Persona known as Robin Hood. Kasumi Yoshizawa is a new character introduced inPersona 5 Royal, where she joins halfway through but ends up also being a key component of the re-release’s exclusive Third Semester period. This video forPersona 5 Tacticawas shown during Atlus' “Nyahoo!” news showcase, where Morgana explains aspects of the game for new and old fans, along with giving his own commentary. This promo video features a brief overview of the game’s cutscenes, along with properly introducing Toshiro and the wedding themed villain. The very end of the video shows Joker being cornered in a desolate street, confronted by enemies wearing smocks and wielding paint guns. Before they could attack however, the enemies are shot from off-screen, where it reveals both Akechi and Yoshizawa in their Phantom Thief attires, jumping into the fray immediately afterward.
Some screenshots show thePersona 5 RoyalThird Semester trioteaming up and participating in battles, with Goro Akechi having Robin Hood, while Kasumi Yoshizawa uses Cendrillon, though adapted toTactica’s new art style. Other screenshots show that Joker finds both of them in a city like Shibuya, though decorated with graffiti. Based on one screenshot, the Repaint Your Heart DLC can be played separate from the main story ofTactica.
One thing that fans have scratched their heads over is theusage of Akechi inPersona 5 Tacticaand how he and Yoshizawa only available in this DLC. He has his Prince outfit and personality, despite it taking place during a snowy day before the graduation ceremony of the third-year students. Yoshizawa’s inclusion also doesn’t jive with the timeline of events. Some of the screenshots Atlus released of this DLC don’t seem to reference the events that take place duringRoyal’s third semester, likely to avoid spoilers for new fans who haven’t played it yet.
Persona 5 Tacticawill launch November 17 for PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
