The first palace ofPersona 5 Royalbelongs tothe volleyball coach at Joker’s high school, Suguru Kamoshida. Kamoshida views the school as his castle, and all the students are his slaves, and so the palace is also known as the Castle of Lust.
As the first palace,the Castle of Lustserves as a practice ground where players will learn all the mechanics involving shadow battles and Metaverse infiltration. Most of it is straightforward, so this walkthrough will start things off with the fourth infiltration, which is the one players choose to initiate. With the right items and a good walkthrough, players can reach the Treasure Vault in a single day, and they can get every item and persona along the way.

General Tips
Since this is the first palace ofPersona 5 Royal, here are some general tips about palaces that will apply throughout the game.

Starting the Infiltration
New Personas in this area:Jack-o'-Lantern,Pixie,Mandrake,Bicorn.
Something players can do at the start of the infiltration is jump forward to the safe room they discovered during the last attempt. However, the room isn’t that far from the starting ventilation shaft, and there are items along the way players can loot.
After reaching the safe room,players will get tutorialson how to use Baton Pass and how to Hide. Following that, Joker will enter a room with a cage. To get inside, players must activate Third Eye and then pay close attention both to the goat heads and to the direction the footprints are walking in. The cage won’t open unless Joker pulls the right chains in the right order. Once he does, players will get the first half of the palace map.
The Phantom Thieves will then enter the Central Hall, but there’s a portcullis barring the way forward. To get around it, Joker must climb a shelf on the opposite wall and use it to get up to the rafters and the chandeliers. Players can stay on the rafters on the far side of the hall to find a window that leads back to the entrance, or they can leap down and enter a side room with the first locked chest of the palace.This one containsNightwatch Armor. Across from it is the second safe room.
East Building 2F
New Personas in this area:Cait Sith,Agathion,Silky.
Once again, a portcullis is barring the way forward, and once again players must use Third Eye to find the right goat head. The one for the entrance to the dining room is hidden around a corner, and once inside players must pull a series of chains that open and close several bars. Fortunately, once players complete the sequence all the doors will open, and after that they can explore every part of the dining room.
In the last room of the sequence, players will find a chest withSooty Gastly Gear. This item isn’t worth much at the moment, but Joker can clean it and items like it in the laundromat across from the coffee shop. Doing so will use up a time period, but it’ll turn dirty gear into much more useful items.
East Building 3F
New Personas in this area:Incubus,Kelpie,Berithas a Savage Enemy
The next floor up is the castle library, and to get throughJoker will need to place three books on the correct bookshelves. The room that needs all the books is in the south corridor, and players can spot both the books needed and the shelves that need them using Third Eye.
The puzzle room contains theKing Book, the northwest room has theQueen Book, and the southeast room has theSlave Book. Players can also find a fourth book, theBeefcake Book, in the southwest room, plus there’s aJudge Macein a chest at the end of the south corridor.
To proceed, put the Slave Book on the shelf with volleyball student names, the Queen Book on the shelf with female student names, and the King Book on the shelf with Kamoshida titles. Doing this will open a door to a secret room, and inside it is a key item along with a tutorial about Disaster Shadows.
After the tutorial, players should go back to the main library and check the bookshelf along the north wall. Putting the Beefcake Book herewill give players a freeProtein.
East Building Annex
Between the library and the annex is a safe room, and players should definitely use it since there’s a miniboss waiting ahead. The miniboss is an Archangel, and unlike the normal version it’s Strong to Fire, Ice, Electricity, and Light and has no Weaknesses.
Once the fight ends, players will find themselves on the rafters above the annex. The way forward is up here, but players should head back down to clear out the shadows and find some loot items. There’s also a chest in a corner with aSoul Dropinside. Afterwards, climb back up to the rafters and check both sides for treasure chests containingBaptismal Waterand anAlert Capsule.
Past the annex is a path to the left. One of the side rooms here has a chest withSooty Heavy Armor, and the far end has a balcony players can grapple to.Behind the door is the first Will Seed, theRed Lust Seed. It’s hard to miss this one, but the next two will be trickier to find.
Finally, Joker will need to take a spiral staircase up. However, players should first go downstairs to take out a Savage Enemy and open a locked chest with aGuilty Whipinside.

Central Tower
New Personas in this area:Succubus,Angel,Archangel.
Players will find themselves outside on a balcony filled with Savage Enemies. Players can fight or stealth their way past them, or they can use two grapple points to bypass the entire area. This is a good idea forthose who are running out of SP and recovery items, but even players who do this should head back down the regular path to grab all the loot items along the way.
Once the Phantom Thieves are inside the tower, players should jump up the boxes to the left and interact with the vent on top to enter a side room that has3 Curse Magatamasin a chest. Players can then jump out the window and use a grapple point on the ledge outside to reach theGreen Lust Seed.
Inside the Central Tower itself, players will find a room with an elevator. Take it down and then interact with the painting in the hallway to find a shortcut back to the Central Hall. Joker can now pull the chains that open the portcullises that blocked the way back at the start of the palace, and the chain in the northwest room will activate a second elevator back in the shortcut hall. There are also a pair of chests on the ground floor withMagic Ointmentand aLife Stoneinside. Players can also head back to the dungeon if they like, but there’s nothing down there except a couple shadows.
Players who take the second elevator down will enter a new area with theBlue Lust Seedat the far end. However, the Phantom Thieves must first defeat Mara, another miniboss. Mara is strong against every element except melee, so hit it hard with physical skills. Also, whenMara wastes a turn looking at Ann, have her defend on her turn. Mara’s next action will always be a powerful Assault Dive that targets her.

Back in the tower, the room past the elevator has a locked chest with aBeadinside. The next chamber has a safe room inside, along with a staircase up. However, the staircase only appears when Joker gets close. The upstairs area has two chests that hold3 Sleep Vial Sand aRelax Gel.
Eventually, a platform full of scythe traps will bar the way forward. To get past, players will need two eyes, and the only way to get them is from special Guard Captains that have spawned below. The first enemy is obvious, but the other eye is held by a shadow back down by the safe room. Players can use Third Eye to spot which one has it, or they can defeat all the Guard Captain shadows if they have the resources to spare. Both real captains are Eligors that Joker can’t negotiate with, but they are Weak to Electricity.
Once players have both eyes, they can use them in the statue by the scythe corridor and shut off the trap. Be sure to grab the chest to one side for aBreath Ring, and there’s another chest around the corner with aRevival Beadinside.
Finally, the Phantom Thieves will reach the Throne Room at the top of the tower. Use the safe room, then climb up the east set of bookshelves to use a grapple point and find one last chest containingPhysical Ointment. Then head back down and use the statue left of the door to climb up to the gallery and sneak around Kamoshida. From here the Treasure Vault is straight ahead, andplayers will have done everything there is to doin Kamoshida’s Castle of Lust.
