Perhaps the first thing players want to know inPersona 3 Reloadis how they can unlock all floors in Tartarus. Even without knowing that it has over 200 floors, watching Tartarus rise out of Gekkoukan High makes it seem like an intimidating climb. But the towering dungeon is easier to get around in this time.

Moreover,P3 Reload’s version of Monad can be prepared for in advance. These ultra-hard levels-within-levels have no mini maps to rely on and contain powerful bosses that require extra thinking power. Luckily for new players and veterans, Monad is introduced at a point where they have access to stronger Personas and equipment.

Updated on August 01, 2025 by Rie Takumi:P3 Reload offers reasonable difficulty levels for players of all skill competencies. Veterans of the Shin Megami Tensei and Persona series would have no problem jumping right into extreme difficulties. But since story elements are not tied to difficulty, there’s no problem with tackling Tartarus at lower difficulty levels.

How Many Blocks And Floors Are There In Tartarus For P3R?

There are264 floorsin Tartarus, exactly the number as in the 2006 original.Every block unlocks automatically after a Full Moon, so there’s no chance of players failing to unlock them. However, floor allotments have changed since the lastPersona 3iteration.

Old Documents will always appear on the top floor of each block. Collecting these is a part of Elizabeth’s requests.

Persona 3 Reload P3R Monad doors appear from 91F beyond

Here are theblocks in Tartarus, what floors each Tartarus block covers, and their unlock dates:

Monad makes its return asMonad DoorsandMonad Passages.

Monad in general begins appearing in Yabbashah. Whereas Monad Doorsappear at random on different floors, Monad Passages always appear at theend of each block. Monad Doors have single enemies behind them, and Monad Passages are a boss gauntlet.

Difficult bosses that may be levels above players manifest at Monad. Players must ensure they cover all elements, physical attacks, and –ja or –nda buff and debuff spells. If they’re strapped for resources, they can make use of their party members to cover weaknesses.

Persona 3 Reload P3R Tartarus Thebel first block

It should be noted thatthe firstMonad door blocks passageto the next block of Yabbashah. Afterwards, players need to complete the previous block’s Monad Passage to unlock the next block’s Monad door.

Thebel Block

Unlocks 4/20 | Floors 2–22

Thebel is the first Tartarus block players explore inP3 Reload. As far as tutorial dungeons go, Thebel is fairly forgiving unless players areplaying on Merciless. Mitsuru teaches players everything they can anticipate in Tartarus, and Shadows are easy to counter.

Gatekeepers & Formidable Shadows in Thebel

Without much grinding, players can coast through Thebel even on Normal difficulty. Collecting Personas through Shuffle time is also trivial. Having a stock makes it easier to fuse Personas that correspond with Social Links the player has unlocked at this point.

Arqa Block 1 & 2

Block 1 Unlocks 5/10, Floors 23–43 | Block 2 Unlocks 6/14, Floors 44–69

Tartarus allows passage into Arqa the day after the May full moon. Unlike Thebel, Arqa is divided into two blocks, a feature that all sections but Thebel and Adamah share.

Of note is Akihiko’s return to action after midterms around 5/18–5/24. Should players have no Personas with Bash, Zio, or combat buffs, Akihiko can provide valuable support.

Persona 3 Reload P3R Tartarus Arqa second block

Players should also be aware that there will be back-to-back boss fights in the Gatekeeper floors from Arqa onwards. If players think they need to level up more, they should definitely use teleporters to go back to previous floors, gain more levels, and fuse stronger Personas.

Gatekeepers & Formidable Shadows In Arqa

Arqa block 2 unlocks on June 16. But for efficiency’s sake, players are advised to hold off from finishing the block until the 26th. Missing persons will begin showing up in Tartarusaround June 18, with the last two for this month appearing on June 26.

Yabbashah Block 1 & 2

Block 1 Unlocks 7/18, Floors 70–92 | Block 2 Unlocks 8/8, Floors 93–118

Yabbashah is another difficulty spike, though rewards on this level are comparatively good. One thing to note is rescuing missing persons in the first block is a time crunch. Some missing persons request will come in just a few days before their deadline.

Building Personas with at least two elements or purposes will serve players well, especially in Gatekeeper floors with back-to-back encounters. Having multipurpose Personas also maximizes a player’s roster, since they can pack a ton of functionality while having the right Arcanas for Social Link level ups.

Persona 3 Reload P3R Tartarus Yabbashah third block

Gatekeepers & Formidable Shadows in Yabashah

One thing to note about Yabbashah is that thefirst block should be explored after SEES returns from Yakushima. Aigis will join the group aftertheir summer vacationand will provide more combat options for players.

Formidable Shadows In Yabbashah

Missing Persons In Yabbashah

Monad Doors and Monad Passageswill unlock at the end of Yabbashah. Yabbashah’s Monad Passage is mandatory, but the rest are optional. It should be noted that enemies in Monad are significantly stronger than what’s in Tartarus proper.

Tziah Block 1 & 2

Block 1 Unlocks 9/10, Floors 119–144| Block 2 Unlocks 10/10, Floors 145–172

Tziah Block 1 features the first Social Link to go missing in Tartarus.Bunkichi Kitamura of theHierophant Social Linkwill be reported missing around 9/12.Failing to rescue Bunkichi by 10/3 will lock the Hierophant Social Link from progressing.

The second Social Link to go missing isMaiko Oohashi of the Hanged Man Social Link. She’ll wander into Tartarus around 10/21.Letting Maiko go unrescued until 11/3 will permanently shut down her Social Link.

Persona 3 Reload P3R Tartarus Tziah fourth block

Harabah Block 1 & 2

Block 1 Unlocks 11/6, Floors 173–198| Block 2 Unlocks 12/10, Floors 199–214

Harabah is the penultimate block of Tartarus. The colorful fifth block has a bevy of powerful Personas in its Shuffle Time rotation. It’s fitting, as the enemies in these blocks are powerful and can take down unprepared parties with ease.

Adamah

Adamah Unlocks: 12/31 | Must Clear BEFORE 1/31

Adamah is traditionally the last Tartarus block players unlock. The final Monad Door is located at Floor 255, though it requires players to complete a questline from Elizabeth to unlock. Players also need to bring their best Personas and have their party at almost max level to even have a chance at beating the boss behind it.

Progress from215-263Fis tied to leveling up one of the last Social Links players can unlock. They are only given one month to cover these levels before the hard 1/31 deadline.
