Summary
After the recentPalworldpatch was released, some gamers have complained that negative traits are being forced on newly bred Pals, causing the developers to promise a fix for this issue soon. Breeding was used as an efficient tool to eliminate negative traits while cultivating good ones, and this change frustrated manyPalworldfans who believe that breeding is potentially worse now.
Since its release in January,Palworldhas been one of the biggest hits of 2024. The early-access survival game managed to sell over 15 million copies on Steam and reach over 10 million players on Xbox. Due to this huge success, its developer Pocketpair is working hard to improve the still somewhat bugged experience. However, it seems that not all the changes the developer made are very popular with gamers.

Now, some players are complaining onPalworld’s official Discord channel about how the new patch 0.1.5.0 changedbreeding inPalworld. Before the patch, players could cross-breed Pals with negative passive traits to get rid of them. For example, Cattivas are always Coward, and Relaxaurus are always Glutton, but some breeding combinations would wipe out these effects. This changed when Pocketpair issued the new patch, though, and now these Pals always keep these negative traits, which was seen as a major handicap by the community.
Palworld Devs Address Controversial Breeding Issue
The complaint was massively supported by the fans, which caused Pocketpair devs to acknowledge the issue. The team used the Discord channel to promise that the change would be rolled back as soon as possible. However, it’s not yet clear if this will be addressed in a hotfix or a full patch.
While this change may have caused some gamers to be unhappy, most of the alterations made byPalworld’s patch 0.1.5.0are positive. The new patch addresses many glitches, optimizes the game’s performance, and even introduces a backup feature that ensures a gamer will not lose their data in case there’s an unexpected issue that corrupts their save. Other minor changes include allowing guild members to be removed when not logged in, improved Pal behavior, and some balance changes, such as diminishing the high selling price of nails.

The latest update mostly focused on fixing issues, butPalworldhas already released a road map, detailing the future of thePokemon-inspired survival game. In upcoming updates, Pocketpair intends to add several new features toPalworld, including PvP, a Pal Arena, new Pals, islands, and more bosses. Another important addition would be more endgame content, including raids. Hopefully, Pocketpair will be able to implement these changes soon, while avoiding making players unhappy.
