Summary
Some fans are upset with the state of some of the Season 11 battle pass skins inOverwatch 2.The firstOverwatchwas released in 2016, and although there are clear differences between it andOverwatch 2,some aspects like skins have always remained important to players. It can be difficult to continuously produce new concepts for cosmetic features for nearly a decade’s worth of content, but fans expect a clear standard out of a game that they can put so much time into.
The newest season ofOverwatch 2is called Super Mega Ultrawatch, and it introduces plenty of new features along with new skins. Players can partake in new hero mastery missions, and new and reworked maps are available. Furthermore, this season ofOverwatch 2comes with the return of the fan-favorite Pink Mercy skinfor players who didn’t previously get a chance to grab it. Not all skins are so loved, though.

Overwatch 2fan Victor_6190 has shared their dissatisfaction with the Season 11 skins on Reddit, and plenty of players appear to agree. Super Mega Ultrawatch brings forth several outfits inspired bySentaiandPower Rangers-styled shows, but that comes with its own set of problems, especially with characters like Genji. Victor_6190 points out the similarities between the new Genji skin and hisSentaiOverwatchskin from years ago.
Overwatch 2 Fans Are Not Satisfied With Season 11 Skins
Fans seem to share the sentiment that this is a recolor and not much else, and much of the frustration comes from the fact that this Genji skin is the reward players get for finishing theOverwatch 2Season 11battle pass, which requires a bit of grinding. It doesn’t feel particularly rewarding for players to put in that much work and get what, to some, feels like so little. Other players have pointed out different features that they aren’t happy with, too.
Another user on Reddit named Guille3094 points at theCalamity Empress skin for Ashe, noting a lack of detailed customization for aspects like B.O.B.’s rifle, dynamite, and shotgun. Most other players get to edit the look of their weapons, and while players can do that with some of Ashe’s own weapons, it feels like an oversight to not include B.O.B. The argument being made here is that for a character like Ashe that has so many details, including B.O.B., it would be nice for all of those details to be thought of in updates that include them.
Although Super Mega Ultrawatch is off to a rocky start with some players here, the season itself brings plenty of potential as a fun refresh, including maps, and skins that some players actually really enjoy. There’s a chance that new skins will drop too, since there’s the upcomingOverwatch 2andTransformerscollaborationthat was teased in the season’s trailer. The developers may get a chance to turn players' feelings around in this season.
