Outridersis a third-person looter shooter with some RPG elements, developed by Polish studio People Can Fly. People Can Fly has a lot of experience with these kinds of games as the team responsible for extremelysuccessful titles such asFortnite, theGears of Warseries,Unreal Tournament, and 2011’s mayhem-infused first-person shooterBulletstorm.Outridersis their latest venture, and as a live-service online shooter not unlikeDestinyorWarframe, the game has received numerous updates geared toward balance adjustments, quality of life improvements, and bug fixes. The game’s first expansion,Worldslayer, was released on June 30th and introduced a slew of new content for players to engage in.

After overa week since theWorldslayerlaunch, People Can Fly has gathered a lot of analytics data giving the team valuable insight into the habits of players and how they choose to participate in the game’s content. This data is playing an important part in the game’s next major patch planned for the end of July. Many players have been abusing an exploit in the Retries System to farm the final Arbiter boss in the Trial of Tarya Gratar. Rather than doing away with the exploit, extra guaranteed legendary drops are being added to other Trove areas which will add far more variety when it comes to efficient farming methods.
Character build balance is also being carefully considered with extremely overpowered builds being targeted for changes. Some builds can instantly one-shot kill bosses, while others cause players to become virtually indestructible. These sorts of builds allow players to largely ignore boss fight mechanics and invalidate less efficient builds, leading to players being funneled into a small number of choices. By tackling these “broken” builds and empowering others, players will have more attractive options when it comes topowerful builds inOutriders.

A small patch is planned to release next week which will focus on a handful of the most important bugs discovered duringWorldslayer’s early access period, while the larger update is planned for the end of July. Along with balance changes, highly requested quality of life additions such as Item Locking and improved Quick Mark functionality are in the works for a futureupdate forOutriders.
Outridersis available now for PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
