Summary
The Tower inDestiny 2has a few entertaining Easter eggs for Guardians to find, and now a replica of a collector’s edition item can be added to the list.Destiny 2players that are curious about the item can head down to Zavala’s room next time they visit the Tower.
Just like with otherDestiny 2collector’s editions, the Final Shape’s special bundle offers one big item in addition to its smaller collectibles. Though Bungie had many options for the centerpiece of its latest collector’s edition, like a statue of The Witness or a model of The Traveler with the now-iconic triangle-shaped hole, it settled on a gorgeous model of the Tower itself. This is exactly what players can find in-game, and the model can be visited for free - giving fans an idea of whether they want to spend a few hundred dollars for a real life version.

The Easter egg was spotted by Reddit user CodfishHowiee_, who shared an image of their discovery in theDestiny 2subreddit. The model has the exact same all-black color scheme as the replica that gamers will be able to get their hands on next year, and it fits nicely on the shelf with Zavala’s other knickknacks. Intriguingly, commenters were quick to point out that this is not somethingBungieadded to the game recently. Instead, the model was present withinDestiny 2long before it became a real world collector’s item.
Essentially, this means that anyone who purchases the collector’s edition will get a chance to own one of the props from Zavala’s in-game office. Considering how muchLance Reddick’s passingimpacted theDestiny 2community, this discovery could make the item feel a bit more special for fans of the franchise, as it allows them to pay homage to Zavala - and by extension, his beloved actor - in another way. While the design obviously looked good enough on its own, and would make a great addition to the shelf of any Guardian, it is nice that the Tower replica has its own little backstory.
Of course, the devastating loss of Lance Reddick does not mean that Zavala’s story is coming to a close. Bungie has confirmed thatKeith David will be portraying the Titan Vanguardin The Final Shape “and beyond,” suggesting that he will have a major presence inDestiny 2’s upcoming episodes. With David having a great working relationship with Bungie in the past, and his voice being a natural fit for Zavala, the character’s future is a bright one.
Ultimately,Zavalahaving a model of the Tower inside a room on the Tower is hilarious and heartwarming. While it can be viewed in a comedic light, such as Zavala breaking the fourth wall and playing a game about the universe he inhabits, it also shows just how much he cares for the Tower and its inhabitants.
Destiny 2is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
