No More Heroesis a cult-classic series that has been a joy to fans for many years. After originallybeing revealed at E3 2019,No More Heroes 3has been a highly anticipated title for a lot of Nintendo Switch fans. The wait for the game will be a bit longer than originally thought thanks to the difficulties of COVID-19 however, as the game has been delayed to 2021.

Goichi (Suda51) Suda,No More Heroes 3director and series creator, released a tweet today announcing that the game is being delayed until 2021. In the tweet, he mentions that the team at Grasshopper Manufacture has been working extremely hard to have the game ready for 2020, but the effects of the coronavirus were a “real body blow” to the development, and therefore the game will not be ready in time.

The series and somber tweet is a bit different than thetrolling-like behavior of Suda51that fans have come to find amusing. Suda was very apologetic, as he mentions that he has been listening to fans on social media and knows that many were looking forward to the game. Suda says that the team can now focus on prioritizing the quality of the title, which makes perfect sense as more time will allow Grasshopper to polish up the experience.

The announcement to delay the title was assuredly not an easy one, especially for Suda51, who first sharedinterest in makingNo More Heroes 3almost a decade ago. His passion for his work always comes through in his enthusiasm and creativity. In the instance of this tweet, his same passion is seen in his disappointment that the game had to be delayed.

The news is not entirely bad, however. Suda also revealed that Darick Robertson has joined the team to work on the game. Robertson is the artist behindThe Boyscomic, which has turned into an Amazon Prime series. No More Heroesvery much has a comic-book-like vibe that is brought to video games, so adding a comic-book illustrator to the team makes a lot of sense.

As fans wait forNo More Heroes 3, they can play andnow enjoyTravis Strikes Again: No More Heroeson the PS4, originally a Switch exclusive. The game is not a mainline entry into theNo More Heroesseries, but as a hack-and-slash mini-entry, it may provide some fun untilNo More Heroes 3is released.
