Nintendo may have three differentMetroidgames in development, suggests a leaker. The company hasofficially announcedMetroid Prime 4, which is in development at Retro Studios, but there are two other unannounced games that fans may also get to play.

LeakyPandy, a notorious group of Nintendo leakers, has revealed that Nintendo is developing threeMetroidgames. “Nintendo is planning 2 new Metroid titles that will release in the next two fiscal years respectively,” wrote LeakyPandy on Twitter. One of these games is a re-release ofMetroid Prime Trilogy HD. The other game is aSuper Metroid Remakethat “mimics Samus Returns in style and scope.” The reviews ofSamus Returnswere incredibly positive, so fans will be glad to hear about another Metroid game that takes ideas from it.

The group of leakers at LeakyPandy haven’t always gotten things correct. Some of its leaks, such as leaks about the date of Nintendo Directs, have been right, but others, such as a leak aboutMonster Hunter Generations Ultimatecoming to Nintendo Switch, were wrong. LeakyPandy does seem to have some insider information but like all leaks,Metroidfansshould take this leak with a grain of salt.

However, LeakyPandy isn’t the only person who has suggested thatMetroid Prime Trilogy HDis in development for the Nintendo Switch. In January 2019, Imran Khan, the former senior editor of Game Informer, revealed thatMetroid Prime Trilogy HDdevelopment has been completedand that Nintendo is just looking for a good time to announce it. Nintendo could have announced the game at The Game Awards 2018, but asMetroid Prime 4had been delayed, it may been trying not to disappoint fans of theMetroidseries. It has also prompted some to suggest that Nintendo will announce the game at The Game Awards 2019.

In April, the retailer Best Buy also posted a store listing for theMetroid Prime Trilogy HD. Many smaller retailers often leak games this way and these leaks can be untrue, but if such a large retailer leaks a game, it gives much more support to a rumor.

There’s much less to support the idea that aSuper Metroid Remakeis in development. This is the first that most fans have heard about the game and it’s also why some aren’t buying this LeakyPandy leak. It could be LeakyPandy getting some of it right and some of it wrong, but fans will have to wait for Nintendo to make an official announcement for the leak to be confirmed.
